Students will identify text features in informational texts.

Students will discuss point of view and who the narrator of a story could be.

Throughout the week we will read many books. Here are some of the books we will read this week.

First graders need to know an assortment of sight words to help them read. By the end of the school year, our students should know the 1st 100 Fry sight words.

This week will focus on the words: what, who

Spelling words: much, check, which, chill, this, that, then, them, thin, with

Students will focus on words with the spelling pattern digraph th and ch.

Students will read words with open and closed syllables.

Students will write a non-fiction text about animals.

Students will write complete sentences.

Students will solve simple subtraction equations.

Students will explore force and motion as it relates to direction and speed.

Students will discuss important citizens in Texas history.
