Saturday School is back! Have your child make up an absence and turn it into a day of attendance! This 1/2 day (8:30-12:30) of enrichment led by a certificated teacher not only helps the school recoup lost funding from absences, but also helps interdistrict students maintain their good standing for interdistrict reviews by helping increase their attendance percentage.

We have nearly completed our first trimester of the 24/25 school year and teachers will be working on report cards and preparing for Parent-Teacher Conferences soon. Parent-Teacher Conferences are an opportunity to have a conversation about individual students’ academic and behavior goals and successes. We strive to meet with 100% of our parents to review this information for 1st trimester. (If you had an IEP, SST, or 504 meeting in October or November, we can consider that your conference if you'd prefer, as similar information would have been discussed at that meeting.)

The District has scheduled time for Parent-Teacher Conferences during the week of November 18th-21st. We found that Zoom conferences allowed for the greatest flexibility for our families, so we will continue to offer Zoom conferences. Teachers will send out the link to their Zoom meeting room prior to the conferences.

Camp Marcum will be available for the first three days of Thanksgiving Break! Our amazing staff will provide 3 days of fun enrichment activities for our Wildcats. This session will be available November 25th-27th 7:30-4:30 for any student TK-8th Grade at no cost. Sign up today if your child will attend! There will be limited spots available due to required staffing ratios. Please sign up by November 8th!

The Book Fair will be taking over the library for the week of November 18-21 (Monday- Thursday). It will be open at recess and lunch for students to make purchases, and also will be open afterschool from 12:30-4:30 Monday-Thursday!

With Veteran’s Day and Thanksgiving break, there are only two Mondays in November that teachers will meet! This time will be dedicated to data reviews, intervention tracking, and report card preparation as we near the end of Trimester 1.

Every year, each class selects a theme and collects items related to that theme to make a basket that will be raffled off at Winter Program. Our classroom theme baskets are always a huge success thanks to your generosity. Please send items related to your child's class theme to school by December 16th!

We will be hosting a family paint night on November 15th at no cost to our Wildcats and their families. The SignUpGenius will go out this soon so keep an eye out to reserve your spot. We hope to see you there!

Marcum Parents' Club has opened up an online spirit wear store that will be available for families to order spirit wear all year long! There are a bunch of different styles and designs you can choose from to show off your Marcum spirit! Be sure to check the online store out. They also have a different special promotion weekly, so check often!

Students who are going on the NYC/DC trip this summer are working on their fundraisers! They'll be doing a can and bottle drive and picking up donations at school on Monday, November 18th! Start collecting your cans and bottles now! Please keep them home until the drop off on November 18th!
