Our Mission: “To share the Good News of Jesus Christ, teach children, and assist parents in training children to be witnessing Christians and productive citizens.”
Weekly Devotion
“Commit your work to the LORD, and your plans will be established.” (Proverbs 16:3)
Like Clan McKinley, you probably have your summer plans scheduled down to the minute (more or less). Since summer break from school is so much shorter than when we were kids, you almost have to start planning in January or February. When will the kids go to Lakeview? What about blocking out the week of the fair? Can we get away for a week or two? Fortunately for me, Mrs. McKinley is an expert planner, which enables me to go along for the ride.
King Solomon, however, reminds us to commit all things into God’s hand, that our plans would be established. That doesn’t mean God will guarantee that our summer plans will be safeguarded from dreaded schedule changes. It means that when it comes to the eternal things—the things above—we should entrust all of them into His hands. He has salvation well in hand. Jesus did this for us at the cross, when He committed His Spirit into the Father’s hand at His death.
But, we should also remember that God is in control of the things below, too. If He’s got the big thing covered, surely, He has the little things covered, too. Pastor Paul Gerhardt, possibly the greatest Lutheran hymn writer of all time, wrote,
Entrust your days and burdens
To God’s most loving hand;
He cares for you while ruling
The Sky, the sea, the land.
For He who guides the tempests
Along their thund’rous ways
Will find for you a pathway
And guide you all your days. (LSB 754:1, TLH 520:1)
God does care about the nitty gritty details of your life, dear saints, and He’s not too busy moving all the pieces around the universe (for your good!) to guide you in your days.
Let us pray: O God, throughout our lifetime, keep us within your care, and at our end, then bring us to heaven to praise You there. Amen.

2024-2025 School Calendar
The TLHS admissions department seeks your help in generating accurate enrollment projections for the next several years. If you are the parent of an elementary or middle school aged child, please complete the survey linked below. Families enrolled in the Cougar Committed program need not complete the survey unless they have had an address change. The data collected will be a valuable resource in planning the future of TLHS. Thank you in advance for your help!
