National Poetry Month
Try some of these activities to celebrate!
April is National Poetry Month
Did you know that National Poetry Month has been celebrated since 1996? Organized by the Academy of American Poets, April is designated as a time to increase awareness and appreciation of poetry throughout the United States of America. Below are some ideas for using poetry as a form of self-expression. Come to the library on Fridays at lunch to create Magnetic style poetry on our Promethean board. Look at the awesome collection of poetry books that we have. Or, write a poem and work with the Writer's Room to get it published.
Don't just read it - write it! Enter these contests.
