Hello Levelland Lobos!
Have a great Thanksgiving break!
This is such a special time of the year. Thanksgiving reminds us to show gratitude for all that we have been blessed with and all the amazing people in our lives.
We will see everyone again on Monday, December 2nd.

Lobo Excellence Award!
Levelland ISD continued with their Lobo Excellence Award this month! This community connections project honors two local businesses for their support each month! We surprise their business with goodies from the LMS Lobo Diner, a Lobo Flag and Pole, and a photo op. The Levelland Chamber of Commerce and South Plains College were both honored earlier today. We appreciate the partnerships with both of these businesses and hope that we can give back half as much as they give us. It takes a village to support our students and we appreciate what SPC & The Chamber both do for the success of our students! Thank you!

Academic UIL Proves Fruitful for Many
Capitol Elementary hosted the annual UIL Academic Event last night. This is always a great night on intellect and wisdom that enhances their learning from classroom content! Second, third, and fourth-grade students from Capitol & South participated in Art, Chess, Music Memory, Spelling, Writing, Oral Reading, & Storytelling. Congratulations to all these students who studied longer, excelled further, and went above and beyond their classroom learning. Thank you to the Principals, the Counselors, the coaches, and the parents who put in extra time to prepare these kids to be judged!

All-Region Choir Concert
LHS Choir Director Joshua Ballard shares that these choir students who made the All-Region Choir spent their day rehearsing with Dr. Sarah Harrington from Wayland Baptist University before performing in a professional Concert! Mr. Ballard says, "They sounded awesome!" Now onward toward State!
More on Choir......................
LHS Choir Director Josh Ballard shares that Isreal, Paula and Emily participated in pre-area auditions and made it! He says, "The top 8 chairs make it to the next round of auditions. These students have to make one more audition to make the State Choir! They all improved their chairs from the last audition and have an awesome chance to go to state. I'm super proud of them and everyone who tried out!" Congratulations to everyone!

Egg-Drop
Capitol Elementary 4th-graders experienced an egg-drop STEM experiment in Mrs. Clara Sanders' Science classes today. After studying gravity in their force and motion unit, this was a great way to prove all the hypotheses they had guessed thus far. Students were challenged to make a device to protect an egg that would be dropped from 50 feet in the air! After the experiment, students evaluated the condition of their egg, discussing gravity, force, and motion. They wrote about positive devices that worked and told why they were good. Students with broken eggs learned they would have to return to the drawing board to engineer something better. This all-inclusive lesson ended with students (and one teacher) landing on foam, which really made the gravity concept learned in this STEM lesson come to life! Thank you to LISD Maintenance for providing the lift for the experiment!
Camp Capitol
Camp Capitol was a huge success last night! There was a huge turnout of parents and students. They spent the best Family Time together engaging in outdoor activities from archery to camp fires, and hot dogs to trail mix. Every student left with a new Judy Blume book to read at home too! Thank you, Capitol educators, for hosting this fantastic event every year! https://www.facebook.com/photo?fbid=978786460961576&set=pcb.978789397627949

It brightened everyone's Day!
