11/03/2024 BCHS Weekly Newsletter
Principal's Message
Good evening, Bruin families-
Fall weather is in the air!
Staff and students enjoyed a fantastic Halloween and Dia de los Muertos this past week. Our girls flag football team beat the second seeded team in the section on Thursday and will be playing in the section semi-final this Wednesday. Girls tennis and both water polo teams are competing this week as well. Please see the athletics section in this newsletter for more information about the playoff competitions this week.
Friendly reminder: Daylight savings occurred yesterday. We moved back an hour. For most of us, our clocks update automatically if connected to the internet, but just in case, be sure to update your clocks.
For everyone's safety, please slow down to 5 mph in our parking lot.
If you access campus from McNabb street, remember to turn left as you pull into the parking lot and pull all the way forward before dropping off your student.
Sincerely-
Principal
Julie Hummel

Staff Member's Of The Week
Ms. Jamie Gardner
Assistant Principal Secretary
Mr. Eric Vallecillo
The Staff Members of the Week are Ms. Jamie Gardner and Mr. Eric Vallecillo
Ms. Jamie Gardner is always eager to help in any way she can. She works in the AP office and manages tasks in the copy center, helps the registrar when needed and assists and helps in enrollment, participates in tardy sweeps, and so much more. After hours, she works at athletic events. On top of that, she’s a proud Bruin parent, enthusiastically supporting her child's sports, band and choir activities. She truly embodies what it means to give her all for BC.
Mr. Eric Vallecillo works hard to increase student success in math. Mr. V goes above and beyond on a daily basis to make math more accessible for students. He provides excellent support to the teachers in his department and is open and willing to help support other teachers on campus as well.
Bruins, when you see Ms. Jamie Gardner and Mr. Eric Vallecillo on campus please congratulate them on being Staff Member of the Week and thank them for all that they do for the BC Community.
