The Fowler Weekly
November 4 - 8, 2024
MESSAGE FROM THE PRINCIPAL
Good Day All,
What a great week to be a school principal! The students were in really good spirits in costumes for Halloween and it brought lots of smiles and joy to me, and the staff. We also had the second edition of school wide, “Name That Tune,” where Mr. Bech’s 5th period class were able to guess Katie Perry’s, “Friday Night” for the win and prize of Jolly Ranchers. Additionally, hundreds of students were recognized at grade level assemblies for safe, respectful and responsible behavior with a “Fist Bump,” award certificate. If your student didn’t receive one this time, there will be plenty of additional opportunities.
Our school would like to celebrate Fowler’s 50th anniversary on the 50th day of school, November 18th. To honor this momentous occasion we are asking all students and staff to dress like a 50 year old. I’m not 100% sure what that means to our 11-14 year olds but I’m certainly looking forward to finding out!
As you know transportation has been an issue this school year. Thank you for your patience as we go through the hiring and training process. With that being said, if you, or someone you know, is interested in applying for district positions like bus driver, learning specialist assistant, nutrition services, and/or custodial work, please check out our job openings.

HAPPENINGS
Let’s Celebrate! We celebrated students this week with Fowler Fist Bumps during Morning Meeting Assemblies. Fowler Fist Bumps are awarded to recognize our students for their awesomeness! Because so many of them are, and we sometimes fail to take time to recognize that fact. If your student is listed below, be sure and ask them why they received their Fist Bump. Congratulations to the following students:
The end of the quarter is this Thursday, November 7 which means two things:
First, there is no school, Friday, November 8. It is a teacher workday.
Second, the PSO is hosting a dance! See all of the details below under PSO.
For 6th grade students who attended Metzger, check out this opportunity!
Fowler Ambassador: Metzger Elementary 2024-2025
The Student Ambassador Program connects 6th grade middle school students with elementary school kids, creating a supportive and fun environment for learning and growth. In this program, middle schoolers take on the role of mentors, helping younger students with their studies, guiding them through school activities, and fostering friendships. Ambassadors develop valuable leadership skills while making a positive impact on their local community. The Ambassador program is set to start on Wednesday, November 13th.You will volunteer your time to help a classroom at Metzger on Wednesday mornings from 7:45-8:45 am.

PBIS SCHOOL CLIMATE SURVEY
On Monday, 11/4/24, Fowler students will participate in the PBIS Feedback and Input Survey during Morning Meeting.
The School Climate Survey is an anonymous survey used to identify school climate issues within our school. There are 25 questions asking about students' experiences at school, and they should take no more than 15 minutes to complete. Students are also asked for demographic information about how they identify. Click here to view a copy of Feedback and Input Survey Questions. The data collected from this survey will be used to understand students' perceptions of school climate issues within our school and how student identity may affect their school experiences. School staff use the results to inform our efforts to improve our school climate.
Though survey results are anonymous, families are given the option for their students to opt-out of participation. If you would like to opt your student out, please contact Raquel Trujano, our bilingual secretary at rtrujano@ttsd.k12.or.us. Although our hope is that everyone will take the survey, we will honor requests to opt out. Thank you!
