Officers Induction Ceremony for NJHS and Student Government
At St. Viator Catholic School, we are proud to celebrate the leadership and service of our student leaders during Monday's Officers Induction Ceremony. This special occasion marks the formal installation of our newly elected officers for both the National Junior Honor Society and Student Government. Rooted in faith, scholarship, citizenship, and service, these students have demonstrated a commitment to leading with integrity and compassion. We commend them for their dedication to our school community and pray that they continue to be shining examples of Christ, in all they do.
E-Rate Programming Survey
Dear Parents:
As we are winding down the 2024-2025 school year, we need your assistance to ensure our school receives critical federal funding through the E-Rate program, which provides significant discounts on internet access and technology services.
To qualify, we are required to collect survey responses from every family. Unfortunately, we cannot estimate or extrapolate data—each family must respond individually in order for our school and the Archdiocese to meet compliance standards set by the Universal Service Administrative Company (USAC).
The survey is brief, confidential, and used solely to determine our eligibility as a school and as an Archdiocese. Without full participation, we risk losing access to thousands of dollars in technology support that directly benefits our students.
Here is the link for the survey: https://forms.gle/gBsjDWiqsoQgNRTL9
Please take a moment to complete the survey by Monday, May 18, 2025. Your response truly makes a difference.
Thank you for your continued partnership and support of our Catholic schools!
Sincerely,
Dr. Katie Kiss
Principal

Class of 2025 Baccalaureate Mass & Ribbon Ceremony
On Wednesday, May 14th, eighth graders had their Baccalaureate Mass today. During this Mass, we celebrated our graduates’ connection to St. Viator Parish School with the traditional ribbon ceremony. Our students read aloud to share what ribbons mean to us.
"We've made it! We are graduating soon! Ribbons stream downward and we look at them proudly as a badge won after eight years of hard work. They are a recognition from our school, from our principals, our teachers, our pastor, priests, and brothers that today is our day to be honored. Ribbons are a sign and symbol of celebration! Let us celebrate these ribbons as ties of blue and gold that bind us to St. Viator Parish School, to each other, and to Jesus."
Each member of the St. Viator Parish School Class of 2025 receives this ribbon, which will bind them to the history of this school forever.
We thank staff member Mrs. Janet Santos for making the 8th grade ribbons for the Class of 2025. We thank our students and our families for joining us in the Baccalaureate Mass today, and we thank Father Dan for presiding.

Standards of Excellence School Vitality Survey
At any time, I am happy to speak on “you cannot judge a book based on its cover.” SVS has heart, has the most caring and dedicated staff (they are old school tough which I treasure but they absolutely LOVE our children), has community, has humble children that are taught to be kind. You really don’t understand the priceless value of this until you leave for a couple years and come back. I’m grateful for this perspective!
St. Viator welcomes a variety of students with behavioral and learning challenges that may not otherwise be given the opportunity to learn in a Catholic School. They are welcomed and supported in order to not affect the learning of others. The administration at St. Viator has an open door policy and listens to their teachers. They are always willing to hear new ideas.
Overall, I think our school does a very good job for the children. I understand that you can’t make us all happy but I know they try their best.
As we continue this process, we are hoping to hear from 75% of our families. Please complete the survey (linked below) Your participation is vital in helping us to analyze the school, its programs and impact on student learning.
We realize this WCEA survey is rather lengthy and should take approximately 10 minutes to complete. We are most grateful for your time and assisting us in this process!

Viator Parish Tuition Rate Reminder
The most significant criteria to qualify for the Viator Parish rate is regular attendance at Sunday Mass using your envelopes. Remember, parents are a model of faith for their children and when families join us on a regular basis they are showing their children the priority faith and church has in their lives.
In order to qualify for the Viator rate you MUST:
- Attend a minimum of 26 masses (Saturday or Sunday)
- Use the envelopes sent to you from the church
- Forgot your envelope? Remember your parish number and use a blank envelope provided at mass.
DO NOT
- Mail in your envelopes to St. Viator church. These will not be counted.
- Drop off your envelope in the church on a school mass day.
- Forgetting the envelope and telling the church or school you went.
Tuition review occurred in December and you should have attended 13 masses by this time. All rates will be reviewed adjusted after the assessment. If your rate is adjusted it will be reflected on the February statement.
Important Notice for Non-St. Viator Parishioners
If your family is registered with a parish other than St. Viator, please submit a signed affidavit from your parish priest. This document must be turned in to Mrs. Alex no later than June 1st.
Thank you for your attention to this matter!
Important School Office Reminders
Please be reminded of the following important procedures:
Absences: If your child will be absent from school, per the handbook (pg. 11), parents should notify the school office immediately. This helps us ensure accurate attendance records.
Tardiness: If your child will be late due to an appointment, car issues, etc., please call the school office ahead of time to inform us of the delay.
Early Pickup: If your child needs to be picked up early, it is mandatory that you contact the school office as soon as possible—whether via phone call, email, or a note sent in with your child. Failure to do so can cause classroom disruption and may delay your child’s retrieval.
Urgent: Tuition and Fees Balance Must Be Paid in Full
All outstanding tuition and fees were due in full April 15. All outstanding tuition and fees not paid now must be paid in full by May 15.
Failure to make full payment will result in your student(s) being removed from enrollment and ineligibility for reregistration for the 2025–2026 school year. Additionally, report cards, transcripts and diplomas will be withheld until the balance is settled in full. No exceptions will be made.
We strongly advise you to log into your FACTS account to review your balance and confirm all payments have been made. If you encounter any issues or have any questions, please contact Mrs. Alex or Dr. Kiss immediately.
For assistance with your FACTS account contact 866-441-4637.
Thank you for your prompt attention to this matter.
Shop with SCRIP Reminder

Parking Lot Use: Reminders & Restrictions
We kindly remind all parents and guardians that the Staff Parking Lot off Eastern Ave is strictly reserved for the following:
-
School staff
-
Assigned Foundation families
-
Handicapped parking
-
Authorized school visitors
This lot is not to be used for student drop-off or pick-up at any time.
Despite repeated reminders, some parents and visitors are still parking in Foundation-assigned spaces. These spaces are purchased annually by specific families and must remain available to them at all times.
No one else may park in Foundation spaces for any reason, including:
-
Dropping off a student or lunch
-
Picking up a sick child from the office
-
Quick stops of any kind
Additionally, using the staff lot as a shortcut due to its proximity, to avoid the loop, or to skip using the church parking lot is not permitted.
This ongoing misuse has led to increased congestion and disruptions for those with assigned access, as well as delivery drivers who need to access the loading zone. Please help us maintain a smooth and respectful parking process by using only designated areas for drop-off and pick-up.
Thank you for your cooperation and understanding.
