Please carefully read the following information about attendance and important dates for the beginning of the school year. Our first instructional day for all students will be Wednesday, August 7, 2024. Your student will participate in critical instructional activities, learning key procedures and processes, and getting to know their new coaches and classmates. NEAAAT’s funding is based on the daily average attendance during the first 20 school days. Your student’s attendance will determine if our school is fully funded for the 2024-2025 school year. Thank you in advance for ensuring your student is present on the first day of school.
Bus assignment confirmation emails were sent to those families who registered their students. If you require bus transportation to or from one of our regional bus stops and still need to complete the registration form, please do so as soon as possible. Students cannot ride the bus if they are not registered. The form can be accessed using this link: Bus Registration. Contact Shala Spence with any questions about transportation at shalaspence@northeastacademy.org.
All NEAAAT high school students, even those with only college classes, should attend their advisory class on Wednesday, August 7, at 8:15 am. Students will receive their schedules, critical information for college textbook pick-up, and online login information during this time.
In order for your student to pick up their Chromebook, families and students must complete all required paperwork. These forms are linked below for your convenience, and printed copies are also available in front of the school. Part of the required paperwork is an online survey. If you do not have adequate internet access, we will have computers available in our lobby Monday - Friday from 8 am-3 pm for you to use to complete this survey before Chromebook pick-up days. If students have fees for prior damage or lost chargers, a Chromebook will not be assigned until all fees have been paid in full.
As the new school year approaches, both parents and students must familiarize themselves with the NEAAAT Parent & Student handbook. This invaluable resource provides information about school policies, procedures, and expectations that are designed to create a safe and supportive learning environment. By reviewing the handbook together, families can ensure they understand important guidelines regarding attendance, behavior, dress code, and academic requirements.
Enjoy the rest of your time this summer, and I can’t wait to see you for the start of the best school year ever here at NEAAAT! (Please see the second page for forms and links)
Sincerely,
Leah Lane
Principal

11th Grade PSAT Registration
Parents and Guardians,
We are inviting all 11th-grade students to take the PSAT on October 1st. If students are interested in taking the PSAT, they must fill out the Google Form below by Friday, July 26th. A parent will also need to sign and submit the permission slip below. The permission slip can be emailed to samanthadoran@northeastacademy.org, or dropped off at NEAAAT. Students who do not sign up to take the PSAT by July 26th are not guaranteed to be able to take the PSAT. If your student currently receives testing accommodations, they may not receive them if they sign up after July 26th.
The PSAT is an indicator for performance on the SAT and students can link their PSAT scores to Kahn Academy to receive individual test prep. Students who take the PSAT in 11th grade are eligible for National Merit Scholarships.
The PSAT is optional. However, all 11th-grade students are required to take the ACT in March 2025; it is a state-mandated test.
If you have questions, please contact Samantha Doran

JOIN OUR NEAAAT BUSINESS ALLIANCE!
The work-based experiences made possible through our Business Alliance Partnerships are already helping us to achieve our vision of being a model for teaching and learning and a leader in the movement to ensure that all children have equitable access to a high quality education.
We’re currently seeking opportunities to build stronger connections with our Business Alliance partners. We’re pleased to announce that we will be growing our internship program this year, and we’re currently looking for employers who are willing to welcome 1 or more students to complete 80 hours or more of on-site work. Other opportunities will include guest speaking in our classrooms, judging projects, providing student feedback on public speaking events, and partnering with our coaches to create lessons that allow our students to explore what we call “the real world of work”.
