Dear Cook Hill Families,

Happy February! We are so excited for all the learning, growth, and celebrations happening this month at Cook Hill!

Our Raise Craze fundraiser continues through February 7th, and we need your help to surpass our goals for Acts of Kindness! Thank you for encouraging your children to spread kindness in our community—it’s been incredible to see their generosity in action. this event leads right into a Kindness Week at Cook hill where we will celebrate what it means to be kind, generous, and respectful. We are so excited for the week long event!

We had a wonderful evening at the CID last Thursday during the CH/PF STEM event. The attached photo is of a CH student who is preparing to launch a straw rocket they built with their family!

February is also Black History Month, and throughout the month, our students will explore influential individuals who have made a lasting impact on our world. Please check out this LINK to learn more about what makes this month so special!

This month we will also celebrate 📚 World Read Aloud Day (February 5th). We are thrilled to welcome guests from across Wallingford to read to our students, fostering a love of literacy and storytelling. 🎉 100th Day of School (February 5th). Classrooms will be celebrating this milestone in creative and fun ways. We can’t wait to share the joy with you!

Additionally, Middle of the Year benchmark assessment data will be shared with families this month. If you have any questions, please don’t hesitate to reach out.

Raise Craze is back!

Our Raise Craze Fundraiser is back! This fundraiser will run from January 27th through February 7th. This is a unique way for us to raise money for our school while making an impact in our community. During this fundraiser, students ask friends and family for donations via the online Raise Craze platform while paying it forward serving others. What a great way for us to teach our students the importance of kindness and gratitude while raising much needed funds. Students will spend time serving, not selling!

Hockey Night Extravaganza!

Happy new year! We hope you had a wonderful holiday break with your families.
As 2025 starts, we wanted to remind our school community that the current PTO board term ends in June. Each term is 2 years in length. That being said - we are looking for 7 individuals who are interested in stepping up into these roles for the 2025-2027 term! Every position has an opportunity for 2 or more people, with the exception of treasurer that only allows for 1 individual to serve in that role. These positions would begin at the end of this school year and run until June 2027.

As part of our continued efforts to celebrate and recognize our amazing students, families, and staff we would like to invite families to complete our Student Celebrations and Happenings form!

The form will be open throughout the entire school year. Anytime your family or child celebrate or do something interesting, add a new submission!

Not only will we celebrate our school community together during our Morning Announcements, but (with the families permission) we will regularly share one of the submissions with our entire school community!

We cannot wait to see what our students, staff, and families are up to when they are being the change they want to see in the world and living their best lives!

The Wallingford Public School Preschool lottery process will open from Tuesday January 21, 2025 and close on Friday, February 21, 2025. Children who turn three on or before September 1, 2025 are eligible for the 3 year old lottery. Children who turn four on or before September 1, 2025, are eligible for the 4 year old lottery. The lottery entrance form is available on the Wallingford Public Schools website on the preschool page. The link to the form is also included below:
