Eastern Service Workers Association In Need
Is there a working electric typewriter down in the rear of your closet or up in your attic that can be donated to ESWA?
One of their 2 typewriter's right-hand-margin can't reset and the other typewriter doesn't type the letter 'g'!!!
Please let Colby T. or Denise O. know if you have an electric typewriter to donate!
Thanks so much

Notes From the Board
The New Board
UUCSJS’s annual membership meeting elected Pat Kennedy, Heather Swenson-Brilla and David Weesner to the Board. They will formally take office on July 1st. The terms of Board member Janet Longo, Treasurer John Brilla, and Secretary Betsy Erbaugh will end that same day. I thank all of the Board members, past, present, and future, for their service to the
congregation.
At the board meeting on Thursday June 16th, The new (and continuing) Board members voted to elect new leadership. They voted unanimously to name Marty Quish as Board President and Steve McGahee as Board Vice President. Kit Marlowe will serve as Secretary and Paul Utts will serve as Treasurer.
Sunday Service from the General Assembly
Once a year, UUs celebrate one Sunday service together. It happens during the Unitarian Universalist Association’s General Assembly. GA, this year, is in Portland, Oregon. To allow those physically present to sleep past dawn that day, the service will occur at 12:30 PM. Please, plan on coming to the UU center then.
The Rev. Gretchen Haley, Senior Minister of the Foothills Unitarian Universalist Church in Fort Collins, CO will lead the 2022 Sunday Service at GA. Additional worship team members includes Rev. Sean Neil-Barron and Shari Halliday-Quan.
Highway Signage
UUCSJS’s annual membership meeting voted to modify the sign on Pomona Road as shown in the photo on the right. To implement that vote, the Board voted to approve the expenditure of up to $850 to purchase and to install the new insert. The price includes three replacement inserts, in case of vandalism.

How Do You Represent Our UU Values?
What organizations do you support? Where do you volunteer?
Our members and friends are making a contribution to their local communities and we want everyone to know about it!
Did you know the Safonof Family snuggles cats and walks dogs at the South Jersey Regional Animal Shelter? Or that they are members of the Vineland Regional Dance Company, a non-profit arts organization that provides low cost and free dance programs and performances to the local South Jersey area, local public schools, and area nursing homes?
Whether you donate your time or your treasure, as part of UUCSJS or as an individual, please email admin@uucsjs.org and give us the details! We want to support you and what is important to you. And others might want to join you too!

This Sunday
The Deal on Those Days: UUA General Assembly Worship
Gather with us to watch a livestream of the Sunday Worship Service at the Unitarian Universalist Association General Assembly at 12:30pm.
Watch at UUCSJS or stream from home HERE.
Description
The last few years have not been easy, including in our local congregations. Whole swaths of members have simply stopped coming; COVID is confusing, and polarizing; many ministers have joined the great resignation; and Pew studies and friends alike have pronounced the end of the local church.
In this moment, when so many of us might be wondering if we should just give up, and relent, now’s the time instead to double down on our commitment to the local church -this unique community that saves us and also breaks our hearts - often much more of the latter than we’d like to admit. In the midst of our culture of death, the church is a place of life. Or it is, as long as we are willing to bring our own lives to it. Join us for a morning of celebration, witness, and future-visioning for the already and not yet power of the local Unitarian Universalist church.
Leading us in worship will be Rev. Gretchen Haley, Rev. Shari Halliday-Quan, Rev. Sean Neil-Barron, Lea Morris, Adam Podd, Joseph and Aimee Santos-Lyons, and Allison King with the GA Choir.
PLEASE NOTE: This service will begin at 12:30pm. It will not be livestreamed on our social media but you can stream from home by visitng https://www.uua.org/ga/off-site/2022/sunday-worship.
*Masks are currently optional at UUCSJS.
