Bulldog Bark Family Update
October
Hello Bulldog Families!
Happy Fall! October is a very busy month at Bales and the students and staff look forward to all the activities that October brings!
As I was reviewing the spring parent survey results, I noticed many areas of celebration and a few areas that needed immediate attention. We are doing our best to get better everyday and appreciate your feedback.
This year we are leading the district in the implementation Boys Town Well Managed Schools. This program provides instruction on skills necessary to be successful in the classroom and in the future. Each week we focus on a different skill.
In September all students learned the life skills of
1. Following Directions
2. Getting the teachers attention
3. Staying on task
In October we will learn
4. Asking for help
5. Using appropriate voice tone
6. Asking permission
7. Working with others
8. Listening
Our students are doing a FANTASTIC job working on these skills
.
In addition to the Well Managed Schools life skills, Bales continues to use PBIS, Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports.
We have classes earning paws for great behavior, following school wide expectations, routines and procedures in the halls, during transitions, and in the cafeteria and recess.
We have students earning Bulldog Biscuits for good behavior in class, treating others with respect and taking responsibility for their actions.
Starting the year with explicit expectations, rules, and procedures across the campus, has helped to enhance the positive and respectful learning environment at Bales.
We are excited for all the great things this year will bring!
As always, I appreciate your support for the entire Bales community!

PTA NEWS
We Need Your Help! ¡Necesitamos su ayuda!
Bulldog Families
In order for our PTA to continue to operate and support our school and students, we need volunteers to take on Board and Committee Positions. Please.
Our current president, Mike, is a community member whose children and grandchildren have long since graduated from Bales. He is supporting Bales because of his passion for education and we appreciate his dedication to our school community!
However, Mike is not able to continue to do this alone. Without volunteers, we will have to shut down our Bulldog PTA.
Please reach out to Mrs. Hannan if you are willing to help! We sincerely appreciate your consideration.
