Coyote Chronicles

Cloverdale Families,
Welcome to March and Trimester 3! We had such an amazing time during our talent show last week. Congratulations to all students who participated. The link to watch the recording is included later in this newsletter.
As you heard from Superintendent Hill on Friday, I accepted a position in a different school district for the 25-26 school year. I will continue to work with our staff and community the remainder of this school year to ensure our students continue to have a positive experience. Thank you for your continued support!

Bullying vs. Peer Conflict
There have been a few questions this year about what is bullying, what is peer conflict, and what is the difference between the two. Have you ever wondered this as well? Cloverdale Expect Respect club student members are here to help! They worked together to create a short video describing bullying and peer conflict. Take a few moments to watch it and share it with your child. We will also be sharing the video in classrooms during the school day.

Illinois Assessment of Readiness
Every year, students in grade 3-8 across the state of Illinois participate in the Illinois Assessment of Readiness (IAR) which is a standardized test to measure student achievement. These results are scored by the state and contribute to a schools overall designation score on their school report card. This year, students at Cloverdale in grades 3-5 will be participating in IAR English Language Arts (ELA) on March 11 and 12 and IAR Math on March 18, 19, and 20.
We need your support at home to ensure students are properly prepared for testing.
1. Ensure students have a good nights sleep the night before.
2. Ensure students have a proper breakfast and snacks to access during the day.
3. Please remind students to charge their devices at home so they are ready to use throughout the day.
4. Students need headphones for testing and bluetooth headphones are not compatible with the testing app.
Please reach out to your child's teacher if you have any questions. Thank you for your support.
