Acacia School
Weekly Update
November 10, 2024
Good Evening Acacia Families,
Thank you for a great week! Even the wind couldn't keep our students from impressing us with their style at our Spirit Day last week.
Upcoming Events:
- November 11 - Veteran's Day, No School
- November 15, 8:10am - ELAC/Parent Presentation with Robin Rush; LET'S TALK ABOUT OPIOID POISONING, OUR CHILDREN, OUR YOUNG ADULTS, AND HOW WE CAN SAVE A LIFE WITH THE TRAINING OF THE USE OF NALOXONE. You will leave with a free supply of Naloxone, educational material to share with your family and friends, and the ability to train others. The death rates went down in 2023 due to people having Naloxone on them and the ability to use it.
- November 25-29 - Thanksgiving Break
- December 7 - SSOAR Saturday School
Safety
Safety is our number one priority at Acacia. We are asking all of our families and students to only use our designated entrance and exit gates for arrival and dismissal from school. The designated entrance and exit gates include the main Dorothy gate near the Kindergarten playground, and the gates that open to the parking lot. Please do not use our emergency gates that open to the field. We appreciate your support as we strive to keep our students safe.
Spirit Wear
Champions for Children
The Champions for Children Block Party is coming up on Saturday, November 16th, from 9 AM to 1 PM. Join us for informative sessions, activities, and a chance for students to make up for an absence.

History and Social Studies Curriclum
This year, we will adopt a new History and Social Studies (HSS) curriculum for TK-6th grade students. On September 20th, a Blackboard message was sent out regarding online Community Review access for Studies Weekly. You may always access online platform with our demo logins below, and we invite you to leave feedback on this Form.

We welcome Community Review and feedback in support of our efforts to continue providing enriching, robust, standards-aligned content and curriculum for our students with engagement from our FSD community. To comply with Board Policy, and provide more accessibility, as of November 1, we have all materials for our recommended adoption available for in-person viewing in the main lobby of the District Office. District office hours are Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM - 4:30.
Pathways of Hope
Please join us in creating a special holiday season for our Fullerton friends and families in need this holiday season! Our Pathways of Hope Holiday Community Drive starts next Tuesday November 12! We need non-perishable food items for grocery support. We need baby to teenager gifts items ($10+) for holiday gifts. We also accept gently used stuffed animals, books and games/puzzles. The gently used item donations are a great way for children to support the drive by picking out and bringing an item they are willing to part with to their classroom donation box. These donations bring so much extra joy to families that receive them so please get your children involved! All families in need get a grocery bag, get to pick out one gift item per child in their family, and choose gently used stuffies, books & games/puzzles to enjoy. In the past couple of years, there has been a need for more middle-school to teenage gifts so items for this demographic including gift cards would be appreciated. All gift cards need to be secured in the office, so hand them off to a drive volunteer or take them to the office yourself for safe keeping. All other donations can be handed off to a drive volunteer or into any donation box around campus (by office, main gates, classrooms). Tis' the season to spread joy!
