DYER ELEMENTARY

The winter concert for Grades 1 & 2 (Traditional) will be held on Tuesday, January 24th from 6:30 to 7:30pm. A rehearsal will be held @ 10:00am on the same day!

Next week is the Great Kindness Challenge! We will have a few special announcements and a kindness check off sheet to celebrate kindness at Dyer School. On Tuesday, wear a shirt with kind words or symbols on it!

Kids Heart Challenge Kick Off is on Thursday, January 26th!

On Thursday our 4th and 5th graders participated in the District Math 24 competition, held at Waller Elementary School. Dyer was well represented with Henry G. and Aubrey R. earning 1st Place and Alternate for 4th grade, and Cara L. and Sebastian S. winning 1st and 2nd place, respectively, for 5th grade. 1st, 2nd and 3rd place recipients will represent the District and move on to the Regional Competition on February 8th. Wish them well!

It's time to order your Dyer Elementary yearbook! The deadline to order your yearbook is Wednesday, February 8. Yearbooks cost $13.50 and will be distributed in late May.

Join us on Saturday, January 21, for a fun filled family event and help restock some supplies that our teachers need! Please consider bringing slider ziplock bags, tissues, disinfecting wipes, band aids, glue sticks, or a monetary donation to the event. Our goal is to provide extra supplies plus $20 for each teacher to buy specific supplies needed in their room.

Doors open at 12:30, movie (the students are voting on The Lego Movie or The Batman Lego Movie) starts at 1pm. Pizza and water will be available for purchase while supplies last. Free popcorn! Other Lego themed activities will be available during the movie.

Please bring seating (chairs, blankets, etc) for the gymnasium floor. All children must be accompanied and supervised by adults. (This activity is not sponsored by BASD.)

Reorganizing? Have gently used books that your kids have grown out of? Donate them to the Dyer Book Bash and help provide classrooms with needed books for students to use on a daily basis. Books appropriate for ages 3-12 would be appreciated. Please drop them off in the "Book Bash Box" in the main doors by the end of February.

There is no school for 4K on March 1st, as our 4K teachers will be engaged in screeners for incoming students.

Children who will be age 4 by September 1, 2023 may now enroll for full-day and half-day 4K in the Burlington Area School District. The enrollment process begins by creating an account for the new student in Skyward (link). Families will need to show proof of age (birth certificate) and proof of residency. 5K families - not currently enrolled in BASD 4K - may also enroll.
