Message from the Principal

Support Staff: All hands that helped to support a very lively Student of the Month Assembly: Gomez, Gonzalez, Servin, Armando, Parent Center Parents for the Balloons. I am grateful for all!

96% of our students are on iready for 30 minutes or more (Math)

81% of our students are on iReady for 30 minutes or more (ELA)

Passing Rate

Highest Passing- Grade Levels

Shout out to 3rd & 6th Grade who both had 100% of students pass lessons. (Math)

Shout out to 3rd Grade who had 100% of students pass math Lessons (ELA).

Classes that had ALL Students met the Target 30-45 Min on iReady: 100%

ELA: Aparicio, Rodriguez, Andrade, Aguila

Math: Arevalos, Aparicio, Rodriguez, Andrade, Aguila

Classes that had the HIGHEST Percentages of Students who passed lessons:

ELA: Tiscareño- 2nd (94%), Arevalos (88%)

Math: Ramos (100%), Tiscareño-2nd (94%), Aparicio (94%)

We will continue to pull data on Thursday so we can target any student not meeting the goal by Friday.

Mid-Point Warning Notices

Parents, please be aware, that all students at risk of receiving a 1 or 2 by report cards, have a notice that should have been sent home by Friday. If you have any questions, I encourage you to reach out to your teacher.

Robotics Teacher

We have a new robotics teacher who will be with us Mondaay thru Friday from 12-5 to organize our after school robotics program! I am so thrilled!

Coding Teacher

We will also have a new coding teacher who will be on campus every Wednesday providing coding and animation lessons to students 2-6th grade!

Bathroom Logs

We have been having issues with vandalism in our restrooms in our upper grades. We have bathroom logs in class, and our support personnel also check restrooms frequently. We will catch the culprits, but please parents, talk with your children about overusing restrooms, properly caring for our beloved Soto Street, and our see something, say something policy.

Please let me know if anyone has reached a milestone, so I can organize the treat.

Recycled Item

Mr. Eric/Ms. Faith will collect all recycleables every Friday. Please send recycleables if you collect them. This supports our school!

iAttend Home Visits

We are visiting students at least once a week, if they are chronically absent. Remember, when students are not here, they miss out on their quality instruction!

Small Pumpkin Donations

We would like to host a Fall Pumpkin Paint Party on the 18th of October after school. This will help us with our prizes/treats for students. Please consider donating small pumpkins (even the tiny ones) would help!

Lockdown Drill

Staff all did EXCELLENT on the lockdown drill and 97% of the staff reported their whereabouts via text, live Google Doc or email within 5 minutes.

Reminders:

Accounting is required for ALL individuals on campus, regardless of job title, with students or not.

Next Steps: Protocol for Subs who don't know about Communication Plan during Lockdowns. This includes parents volunteers on campus.

This last week, we had the best attendance to date!

Monday: 7 ABSENCES (first time in single digits)

Tuesday: 6 ABSENCES

Wendnesday: 5 absences

Friday: 11 absences (phone calls returned 1 more student!)- Lowest Friday attendance thus far.
