We surprised the Soaring Star of the month at Argyle Middle School on Friday morning! This month's recognition went to Argyle Middle School Band Director Bojan Gutic!
Mr. Gutic, a longtime Argyle ISD educator, has helped grow an exceptional middle school band program. His nominations highlight his dedication to excellence, adapting to students' needs while holding them to high standards. He builds strong, respectful relationships with students and families, creating lasting connections that are evident when he works with students.
With positivity and consistent communication, he supports student growth and exemplifies Argyle’s values of excellence, kindness, and security. Congratulations, Mr. Gutic—we’re proud to have you in Argyle ISD!

🚌 Argyle ISD Celebrates School Bus Safety Week!
This week, Argyle ISD joins the national effort to highlight School Bus Safety Week, stressing the importance of safe practices on and around school buses. Thousands of Eagles rely on our buses and drivers each day, making bus safety essential for students, parents and the community.
Parents are encouraged to review safety rules with their children and community members are reminded to stay vigilant in school zones and respect bus stop signs and crossing guards. Together, we can help ensure safe and secure transportation for all our Eagles.
"Hey Dude, Nice Shoes" Campaign Visits Campuses, Promotes Kindness
Argyle ISD Elementary Counselors welcomed nationally recognized speaker, Carolyn Jennings Brown, to Argyle South, Argyle West, Hilltop, and Jane Ruestmann elementary schools this week to deliver her "Hey Dude, Nice Shoes" presentation.
Mrs. Brown spoke with students about choosing kindness, delivering an anti-bullying message that promotes prosocial behaviors and choices. Mrs. Brown also supported AISD parents through her parenting workshop on Monday evening. Thank you for joining us this week, Mrs. Brown!
Early Voting Times This Weekend
Early voting will continue this weekend and through next week. The final day of early voting is Friday, Nov. 1.
Argyle ISD voters can vote at any Denton County location during early voting. Polls are open this weekend. The ballot includes the Argyle ISD School Funding Referendum. The ballot language of what to expect at the polls is located below.
- Saturday: 7 a.m. to 7 p.m.
- Sunday: 11 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Superintendent Launches New Student & Teacher Advisory Councils
This week Superintendent Dr. Courtney Carpenter launched two new councils that will help build engagement and collaboration with students and teachers.
Thursday morning we hosted the Superintendent's Student Advisory Council that included more than a dozen high school and middle school students. They met with Dr. Carpenter and the Superintendent's Cabinet and asked questions about the district and the campuses. The students had great questions and we enjoyed hosting them at the administration building. Special thanks to Eagle Partner Papa John's for providing lunch for everyone!

Thursday afternoon Dr. Carpenter hosted the Advisory Council which was comprised with teachers across the district. They shared feedback they have received from their campuses and received updates on the School Funding Referendum and transitioning to two high schools and middle schools.

AISD Earns Superior Achievement for Financial Integrity!
Argyle ISD has received special recognition for the 22nd year from the Texas Education Agency (TEA) for its financial stewardship.
The district earned an “A” for Superior Achievement under the Texas’ FIRST Financial Accountability Rating System. This rating is the state’s highest, demonstrating the quality of AISD’s financial management and reporting system for over two decades.
Argyle ISD Chief Financial Officer Liz Stewart presented the FIRST Report for the 2023-2024 school year to the Board of Trustees during the regular Board meeting on Monday, Oct. 21, 2024.
“We congratulate Mrs. Stewart and the Finance department in Argyle ISD for its recent “A” FIRST rating,” School Board President Sam Slaton said. “For over two decades, this district has exemplified financial management practices and has been awarded the highest honor in each of those years. Mrs. Stewart and her team continue to model financial accountability and transparency within the education system in Texas. Congratulations again, and thank you for your dedication.”

School Board Meeting Update: Monday, Oct. 21
Monday night, Argyle ISD held its monthly regular board meeting. The AISD School Board met at 5 p.m. for an executive session prior to the open meeting. We are providing you with School Board Briefs and hope this valuable information on agenda and action items helps you to be a well-informed Argyle ISD community member.
During recognitions, our Board of Trustees and Administration recognized our amazing campus principals for National Principals Month. This recognition honors the dedication and hard work of our Argyle ISD school principals and shows appreciation for their contributions to the success of our students, schools, and the community. The Board of Trustees also recognized our Human Resources Department, as Governor Greg Abbott proclaimed October 9, 2024, as Texas Education Human Resources Day. This recognition is to honor the important contributions made by school staff who work in human resources.
Following recognitions, Argyle ISD CFO Liz Stewart conducted a required public hearing on the Financial Integrity Rating System of Texas (FIRST). Argyle ISD, for the 22nd consecutive year, received a Superior Rating “A” from the state of Texas. The FIRST Public hearing can be viewed at this link.

Theatre Hosting Haunted House - Saturday Night!
It’s the event everyone has been waiting for! Argyle High School Theatre Department's Annual Haunted House!! Are you ready? This year the haunted house is open one night only!! The kid friendly version will be held from 4-6 p.m. and the full scare will be from 6:30-10:30 p.m.
The event will be $5 at the door.

UNICEF of Argyle High School Launching Trick-or-Treat Campaign!
This Halloween, UNICEF of Argyle High School is launching a Trick-or-Treat for UNICEF campaign. Students at each campus will receive a QR code to attach to their trick-or-treat bags, making it easy for those handing out candy to support UNICEF with a quick scan and donation. All contributions go directly to UNICEF to help children in need worldwide.

Argyle ISD recently reconnected with several former teachers in the district. We held a special luncheon and an opportunity to engage with the district!!
It was great seeing so many special teachers who impacted generations of Eagles! We appreciate you and welcome to our Silver Eagles program! These teachers started the foundation of success and excellence in Argyle ISD and we look forward to more engagement opportunities with them in the future.

🏈 Eagles Battle Burleson Tonight!
Tonight is Argyle High School Band, Color Guard and Majestics Senior Night! The ceremony will start at 6:30 p.m.
Argyle (6-1, 5-0) returns home to face Burleson on Friday at 7 p.m. The Eagles are coming off a 31-6 victory at Mansfield Summit and have now won six consecutive games. Burleson is 3-4 overall and 2-3 in district and lost last week 14-10 to Mansfield Timberview.
Argyle is in sole possession of first place in district!

🏐 Lady Eagle Volleyball Senior Night Tonight!
The Argyle Lady Eagles' volleyball team will host SENIOR NIGHT tonight at the AHS arena. The game starts at 5 p.m. tonight vs. Denton Ryan.
Come out and support the Lady Eagles and this year's seniors! Argyle continues to roll through district and has won seven consecutive matches. The Lady Eagles are 31-5 overall and ranked No. 2 in Class 5A by the Texas High School Girls Coaches Association.
🎾 What A Season! Great Finish by Argyle Tennis!
The Argyle Eagle tennis team had an impressive fall season! The team finished one match shy of reaching the UIL Class 5A state tournament. It was an incredible run to the Class 5A Region I final that was led by so many talented players.
The team will now shift their focus to the spring season and more great things. Congratulations Argyle Eagle tennis, Coach Mihok and assistants!!
🏃 Great Job Madison! Regional Qualifier!
Congratulations to Lady Eagle freshman cross country runner Madison Chapman! She qualified for the Class 5A Region I meet in Lubbock and finished 45th out of 172 of the best runners in the state.
Madison (pictured left) was the second fastest freshman in Region I. What a bright future ahead for Madison!
