Learning about Apples
First graders are learning how to be scientists. We used apples and our senses to discover new information about apples. We weighed apples using a balance and coins, then counted how many coins our apples weigh. We discovered that apples sink instead of float. We also looked inside the apple with a hand lens.
We read about Johnny Appleseed, learned that his real name was John Chapman and he wore a pot for a hat. He also walked across the United States planting apple trees. Most first graders like to eat red delicious apples!
