6TH GRADE TRIP TO HOWELL
Our 6th grade students had their first field trip to Howell Nature Center. During our field trip, students worked on team building, survival, and communication skills through a variety of courses, which included high ropes, zip lining, and a course focused on team building. This field trip was the start of our students working together and communicating with each other. These are some of the core skills we teach throughout the year. We all had so much fun on this field trip and look forward to the rest of the year!

EMERSON FLAG FOOTBALL
The Emerson Flag Football League took to the field on Saturday mornings this October under the direction of Mr McCoy. 28 players got involved in the action and former Emerson students helped to coach/officiate the games. Each week, the players would warm-up with skill work and drills that they put into play during the games that followed. The players not only learned about the game of football, but also learned the skills of cooperation, competion, and showing good sportsmanship. The Emerson athletes made a lot of exciting plays which brought our big crowds to their feet! Thank you to players and parents for making our 26th season a successful one!

CANVAS LEARNING MANAGEMENT SYSTEM!
All students, grades Young 5s-12 use Canvas, a learning management system. Classroom teachers use Canvas to provide instruction, resources, activities, and assessments for students, as well as parent communication.
Parents are encouraged to set up a parent/observer account to stay abreast of student learning. Canvas will allow parents to:
- Contact their child’s teacher
- View grades, due dates, and events
- See, and in many cases access, what the child is doing at school
- Support an absent student
- View classroom and building announcements
Downloadable directions are linked below. In addition, helpful videos and walk-throughs may be found linked HERE.

SACC UPDATE SNACKS
We are excited to announce that beginning Monday, November 4, the YMCA will provide daily snacks for our afternoon SACC program. We know how important the before and after care service is to our families and look to continue to grow our community partnerships.
Therefore, we are thrilled to provide these after school snacks at no cost to families. We believe that offering a healthy snack will enhance the experience for all children in the program.
Thank you for your continued support. If you have any questions, please feel free to reach out.
