A Note from Mrs. Goldsworthy
SALT is a collective effort among our community to be the hands and feet of God on Earth. Today, our students used their hands to make care packages, clean & organize, and show love through hugs and handshakes. Sister Barbara Joseph of Sister BJ's Pantry told our 4th grade students that those actions are Works of Mercy, and we do them every day without realizing it. May our students - all of us - grow in our faith and in our works.
Thank you to the core SALT team, teachers, staff, and families who are an example to our students - giving themselves in service by planning, coordinating, driving, chaperoning, and donating materials for all the many wonderful service projects. You may view and add photos from SALT Day at https://bit.ly/saltday25
We have some Spring Financial Reminders that require action from all families. Please see Mrs. Metz's checklist and make sure you complete the necessary action items.
Please pray for...
Please pray for the sister of teacher Jean Price who passed away this week. May she be welcomed into the kingdom of God with loving arms. Eternal rest grant unto her oh Lord, and let Perpetual Light shine upon her. May her soul and the souls of all the faithful departed, through the mercy of God, rest in peace. Amen. | Please pray for the strength and healing of Kindergarten teacher Jen Taylor as she receives cancer treatment. | Prayer of thanksgiving for Deacon Rob Blakely who has been declared free of cancer following last week's surgery. | Please pray for Mrs. Hutchison's husband, Joe, who is continuing to heal. | Please pray for Nora Blevin's aunt, Jennifer, who is receiving treatment for cancer. | Please pray for Coach K's niece, Saylor, as she continues to fight through a rare muscle disorder. | Please pray for Coach K's dad who is battling cancer, and approaching the end of his chemo treatments.
Blessed Stanley Rother, pray for us now, and intercede on behalf of those in need of God's healing.
If you would like to include something in the Prayer Requests section, please contact Kim Hattaway at media@steugeneschool.org.
A Note from Mrs. Whitmire
Hello! Next week I will begin sharing some big news with the students. Sadly I will not be returning to teach art at St. Eugene next year. I have accepted a job at a small pottery and stained glass studio in Midwest City where I will start this summer. I will be their Studio Coordinator and will do some teaching there as well. It is an amazing opportunity that I am really excited about, but I know how much I am going to miss my St. Eugene community. St. Eugene has been a part of my life for 18 wonderful years and I am so grateful. I look forward to spending this last quarter with the students and staff. I thank you for your prayers as I begin this new journey. St. Eugene will forever hold a special place in my heart!

Our annual Preschool through 5th grade Eagle Expo will be Thursday, May 1st from 4:45-5:45pm (come and go). This is an opportunity for your student to showcase their learning from throughout the year! Stop by classrooms, and let your student guide you through what they have learned! Aftercare will close at 5pm that evening so everyone may enjoy the Expo. If your student is in Aftercare, a parent/guardian must check them out before they can go to the Expo.
Make the evening a little easier by getting dinner after. Our 6th grade class will be selling pizza and drinks in the gym from 5:15-6:00pm that evening as well.
Fine Arts Night
Save the date for Fine Arts Night on May 1st! We will have double the fun on Thursday as families are invited to visit the Eagle Expo (4:45-5:45pm) THEN attend Fine Arts Night (6:15pm)!
TALENT: Mrs. Mejia invites 3rd-8th grade students to sign up to share their talent at Fine Arts Night. We have had musicians, dancers, recitations, comic performance, and martial arts demonstrations in the past that were absolutely phenomenal! Please sign up to participate by April 23rd, and plan to attend the talent review session.
CUPCAKE COMPETITION: All students are invited to share their culinary arts skills by entering Mrs. Whitmire's cupcake competition! No sign up necessary, but we would appreciate a participant head count if possible. PRINT and fill out the linked cupcake form, and bring with your dozen cupcakes to Fine Arts Night! Winners will receive a prize, and all cupcakes will be sold during intermission to raise money for our arts program!
Sign up to help at Fine Arts Night for Time & Talent.
