MH Titans Register & Research using Noodle Tools
Noodle Tools orientation was held in the library for eight of Ms. Pike's English classes.
The librarian assisted students with registration and provided an overview of using
Noodle Tools in their current biography research project. Noodle Tools is an excellent online organization tool. Students were excited about creating digital note cards to paraphrase, and cite information as they located sources.
As one MH Titan stated " We love Noodling"

Comics to the Rescue!
In December, our library graphic novel book club enjoyed special gifts - Marvel and D.C. Comics donated by Alexandria Public Librarian , Ginny Rawls.
Ms. Rawls provided a special book review of newly released graphic novels and how students can access them via e-books. Book club members created a list of favorite graphic novels for Ms. Rawls to add to the Public Library's Teen Favorites online.

Exploring Graphic Novels & ALL Things STEAMPUNK!
A small group of students from our GN book club met Ms. Gross at Beatley Public Library for A Steampun program on Saturday, January 25. Steampunk books consist of science fiction/fantasy writing with a Victorian setting powered by futuristic inventions - steam engines, gears clockwork parts. Steampunk fiction writers encourage readers to re-imagine how technology and machines may have changed history. Many of our graphic novel club members enjoy this era and books in this genre.
Students browsed through books, admired costumes, made their own artwork, jewerly and watch videos that highlighted stempowered technology with the elegance of the Victorian era.

Ipad Check-out in the Library!
25 mini Pads are now available for check-out in the library for students. Students sign the ipads out by the device number and leave their ID card at the circulation desk. Many of the students use the ipad apps to log onto the library databases and follettshelf to read e-books and play math and other educational games during their lunch block. This is great for students who have not had the opportunity to use an iPad or tablet device. MH titans can also request apps to be loaded onto the ipads by completing "That's An App" form at the librarian's desk.
