Family Summer Update
2024-2025
YOU BELONG HERE
I hope you are all enjoying the hot weather! Summer is absolutely my favorite season. We are working away this summer to ensure classrooms are ready for students on the first day of school.
As mentioned in the Summer Notes from APS email that came from the district, all students will receive one free breakfast and one free lunch for the 2024-2025 school year. Students are expected to bring their own snacks from home and families are expected to order lunch online in advance. Breakfast does not need to be ordered.
Sanborn continues to partner with School Tool Box again this year to offer an easy and cost-effective way to purchase back-to-school supplies for the fall. Log on to www.schooltoolbox.com, search for “Sanborn” and then locate your child’s grade level list. Each grade has required and add-on items. The boxes are delivered to your house.. You can use the supply lists to purchase your own items independently, however, supply prices either meet or beat the prices at Amazon, Staples and Target. Each box is rounded up to the next dollar to provide a small amount of funds for the school to purchase additional supplies for Sanborn families in need.
School Tool box is holding a 50-box challenge! If we sell 50 additional school supply kits from July 25, 2024 – August 31, 2024 we will be entered to win $2500 in FREE school supplies.
Finally, expect placement letters for teachers in mid August. You will receive this information electronically through Aspen.
Staff Updates
I wanted to take this opportunity to update you on some exciting changes to our staff for the upcoming school year.
First, we are delighted to welcome Danielle Hart to our second-grade team. Danielle joins us from West Elementary School, bringing her passion for teaching and dedication to our students.
We are also pleased to introduce Kendall Bianco as our new Evaluation Team Facilitator, replacing Kim Oliveira. Kendall's experience and expertise will be invaluable in supporting our students' needs.
Lastly, we are thrilled to have Amy Navarro join us as our full-time Physical Education teacher. Amy comes to us from West Middle School and is eager to inspire our students to stay active and healthy.
Please join me in welcoming Danielle, Kendall, and Amy to our school community. I look forward to a fantastic school year ahead!
Are you looking for ways to become more involved at Sanborn this year?
The PTO is always looking for volunteers.
However, there are also other ways to get involved.
The C-3 or culturally climate committee. We are continually working together to find ways to make Sanborn a more inclusive school. The C-3 Committee meets the first Friday of the Month starting on 10/4 at 8:15. We have a diverse range of topics that we discuss, but we are always open to new ideas.
The School Council is also looking for two parent volunteers. The committee meets four times per year and discusses the vision of the school, the school improvement plan, as well as other topics including school data and next steps to improving Sanborn. Our first meeting will be on 10/11 at 8:15. The committee will then determine the 3 other dates.
Please email if you are interested. carolyn.fawcett@andoverma.us

At Sanborn this year, we will begin to roll out RULER, our social emotional learning approach. If you were not able to make the virtual sessions this year. Here is access to some of the resources that you can refer to if you are interested in learning more about RULER.
