We have been collecting items for the past few weeks and now we are ready to share them with our community and family members!

PROTETTORE (RED HOUSE) was our 1st place winner with 608 items donated!

REVEUR (BLUE HOUSE) was 2nd place with 420 items donated.

ALTRUISMO (GREEN HOUSE) was 3rd place with 271 items donated.

All together we collected 1,700 items for our Kindness Drive. Way to go Prairiewood!

On Monday from 3:00-4:30 we will be at 1420 Commons Drive with available items. If you are in need, please stop by with a bag. We can't wait to see you there!

It is time to sign up for Parent/Teacher Conferences! Our teachers are excited to have the opportunity to meet with each family. You should have gotten an email from the district this week with details on signing up for a conference time. I will attach the information from the email below.

The dates and times teachers are available for conferences are listed below:

Wednesday, October 9 - 4:00 PM - 9:00 PM - IN PERSON at all Schools

Thursday, October 10 - 9:00 AM - 11:00 AM - IN PERSON at all Schools

Thursday, October 10 - 12:00 PM - 4:00 PM - REMOTE at all Schools

Thursday, October 10 - 5:00 PM - 9:00 PM - REMOTE at all schools

There are also some additional times and dates available for our dual language classes.

The Book Fair is coming to Prairiewood starting next week!! All students will get a chance to shop at the Book Fair with their class during the school day, so please check out the dates below to know when your child's class will be attending. You can send money with them to shop on those days.

The Book Fair will also be open during Parent/Teacher Conferences on Wednesday, October 9 from 4:00-9:00pm and Thursday, October 10 from 9:00-11:00am.

We will be hosting CAREER DAY at Prairiewood on Friday, October 18. On this day we would like to welcome our students to dress up as what they want to be when they grow up.

We also need volunteers! Would you be willing to come into school and talk about your career? You would have about 15 minutes to speak to a group of kids to talk about what you do for a living, what you love about it, what your day looks like, and what students could do while they are in school to prepare for a job like yours. Students will also have a lot of questions for you!

These presentations would be between 8:15-9:00 on Friday, October 18.

If you are interested in volunteering, please fill out the Google Form below by Friday, October 11.

We are excited to host our annual Veterans Day event at Prairiewood - this year we will be combining with Creekside Middle School for an even bigger event.

If you are a veteran, please save the date of Friday, November 8th. We will be hosting a Veterans Day breakfast featuring live music and speeches starting at 7:30am. We would also love to invite veterans to come into Prairiewood classrooms after the event to speak to students about their experiences and answer questions that our students have.

More information will be posted in next week's Prairiewood Press, along with a Google Form to RSVP to the event.
