New Early Learning Coordinator

Alyssa Humpal has joined our team as the Early Learning Coordinator. In addition to managing the Preschool Program, she will coordinate ECFE and Early Childhood Screenings.

Byron Preschool

The first days of Preschool have been a success! Teachers and assistants have been working on introducing students to Preschool routines, touring the school, sharing and using manners, and playing with new friends. Students have been brave when saying goodbye to their grown-ups.

Our new students will have school pictures on September 10th & 11th.

5 New Classes to Consider: With each catalog we try to bring new, fresh learning opportunities. This fall we are offering several new classes. Here are a few new options.

Strategy Games Workshop for Intermediate Students starts on September 30th

Trips with Triton Community Education

Byron Community Education partners with Triton Community Education to offer fun trips. Kristy Faber does a fantastic job leading this popular outings! You must call Triton Community Ed at 507-418-7550 to register for these trips.

Over the River and Through the Woods

Thursday, October 10

Location: Sidekick Theatre at the Ives Masonic Heritage Center in Bloomington, MN; Bus departs Byron Community Ed Parking Lot at 9:30 am and returns at approximately 5:15 pm.

Fee: $82 (includes coach bus ride, lunch at the theatre, and ticket to the show)

Branson Country Christmas A Special Tribute to Veterans Branson Ozark Jubilee

Thursday, November 7

Location: Treasure Island Resort and Casino in Welch, MN

Direct from Branson, the Ozark Jubilee features an all star cast of Branson’s top entertainers. This year presenting, “An All New Christmas Show” with new music, new jokes, but the same world class talent audiences expect! This year the Ozark Jubilee will be honoring and paying tribute to our veterans, and thanking them for their special service. The entire second half of the show is a total variety of Christmas music.

Bus departs Byron Community Ed Parking lot at 9:50 am and returns at approximately 4:10 pm.

Fee: $92 (includes coach bus ride, lunch and ticket to the show)

Pottery Classes and Open Studio

Community Education offers youth and adult classes in the Pottery Studio at the CEC Makerspace. The Pottery Studio is equipped with pottery wheels, electric kiln, slab roller, extruder, and other tools. Adults who have taken pottery classes in the past are invited to sign up for Open Pottery Studio. If you want to learn how to throw on the wheel or need a refresher, check out the Intro to Wheel Throwing sessions.
