A Note from the Principal
Welcome to the 2024-2025 school year at Permenter Middle School. We are "owning it" with a commitment to a campus theme of "Excellence is the Only Option".
- While the first week of school focused on routines, acclimation and expectations, our teachers started teaching their content. With our classes being only 45 minutes long, it is imperative that our scholars arrive to school with a mind focused on excellence, academic growth, and healthy peer relationships.
- Our scholars will receive their ID badges this week.
- We will begin enforcement of ID badges and tardies this week. Please be sure to have discussions with your scholar to ensure they are equipped with everything they need when they arrive to school each day. We need them on time not just for 1st period, but they must be on time every period throughout the school day. Their presence is essential to their academic success.
- We want to partner with you. While our lunches are closed (no outside visitors or lunch deliveries allowed), there will be opportunities for you to engage, volunteer and visit your scholar's classes.
- If you desire to schedule time to visit your scholar's classes, please send an email to Dr. Lemons at katrina.lemons@chisd.net to communicate the request. Dr. Lemons will collaborate with you to schedule a time within the district guidelines.
- We have a blended learning model. Our scholars will be issued Chromebooks provided there are no fees or missed Chromebooks on their records. Please ensure your child does not owe any fees. Without a functioning Chromebook, there are some aspects of their learning that will be missed which will have negative impacts on academic growth.
- All backpacks for the 24-25 school year must be clear or made of mesh material.
- Classes will be leveled over the first two weeks. Ms. Terry emailed all parents the process/form for requesting schedule changes.
- If you want your scholar to ride the school bus to and or from school, you must complete the transportation registration process. That is funneled through the transportation department. More information can be found here. All questions pertaining to school year 2024-2025 routes should be forwarded to Transportation Routing at 469-272-2080 ext. 4943.
Faithfully,
Dr. Lemons
