Superintendent's Message
Hello JEFCOED Family,
This school year feels like it is moving very quickly. We are already nearing the end of the first nine weeks on October 10th! Parents, that means report cards will go out on October 18th.
This is a really good time for all of our students to reflect on how theyāve done so far. If youāve been successful in the classroom, keep doing what youāre doing. Donāt let your foot off the gas! If you need to make some improvements, thatās ok! Be honest with yourself. Now is the time to make changes to be successful for the rest of the school year!
Last Thursday was a special day in JEFCOED. It was Give Hope Day! Thatās when we wear gold and stand in unity with those families currently battling Childhood Cancer. Each year more than 500 children in Alabama undergo cancer treatments. We wear gold also to raise awareness of the disease. Remember raising awareness is a big part in raising funds for research. Please take a moment to look through some of the pictures that are below.
Also last week, I sat in on a meeting about beginning a new employee recognition program. Weāre still working out the details, but expect to release information in a couple of weeks. To our hardworking employees, please be on the lookout for that, and know also how much I appreciate each and every one of you.
I hope everyone has a great rest of your week! Keep working hard!
All the best,
Dr. Gonsoulin

Peachjar Launches in JEFCOED
Jefferson County Schools has launched the new electronic flyer communication tool called āPeachjar.ā To view school-approved eflyers, simply click the Peachjar button on your schoolās website.
Schools also began emailing electronic flyers during September. If your school was already doing other communications - Newsletters, phone calls, etc - those will continue. This new tool is not to replace any existing communication efforts. Instead, itās another layer of communication that our schools will use to keep parents informed.
This āgreen" initiative will save our schools tons of paper and reduce copy costs by thousands of dollars. On top of that, posting school flyers in this electronic backpack reduces clutter and will help parents keep track of school events.
No action is required on your part. Parents should have received a welcome email from Peachjar which includes a login link. This is provided to give you the opportunity to manage your account and flyer delivery preferences. You do not need to login to receive or view school eflyers.
To ensure smooth delivery of this communication, we suggest you add school@peachjar.com to your email contacts. When you receive your first eflyer, be sure to click āalways display images.ā
