There's still time... GCPS wants your feedback
Staff, families, students, and community members are invited to review and provide input on proposed instructional resources for select grades and courses in Mathematics, ESOL, and World Language. This year’s virtual review will run through October 31.

Participate in the 2024-25 & 2025-2026 Calendar voting
GCPS is asking students, staff, and parents to review the four (4) available calendar options and vote on the calendar of their choice. Links were sent via district email.
Inclement Weather Procedures
As we enter the winter season, it is important to know what to expect from GCPS in case of inclement weather. If weather conditions pose a potential safety concern, the decision to cancel school or delay opening might be made.

GCPS' Grounds Maintenance Department is revitalizing playgrounds
The Grounds Maintenance department just wrapped up their latest mission: playground equipment life cycle replacements. They've transformed a whopping 19 playground structures, including four large structures, 11 medium-sized ones, and four swing sets.
This is National School Bus Safety Week
This week, we celebrate our Team GCPS drivers, monitors, and transportation staff who safely transport our students to and from school each day! They drive student success with empathy and excellence! During School Bus Safety Week, we recognize how their caring and commitment make a difference for each and every child throughout the district.
Has your GCPS teen started Driving?
We understand the challenge of letting your teen "hit the road." National Teen Driver Safety Week, from October 15 to October 21, is a great time to share safe driving habits with teens who are new drivers.
October 24 is Mentoring & Community Schools Family Night
GCPS invites all families to attend a virtual “Mentoring & Community Schools Family Night” led by the Community-Based Mentoring Program and the Office of Community Schools on October 24 from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. During this session, attendees will learn how to engage with GCPS as a mentor and learn about GCPS' Community Schools. Online registration is now open. Interpretation will be provided in Spanish, Vietnamese, Korean, and Chinese.
This video from GCPS Tech Tips highlights various translation tools that can be used by GCPS families. Tools highlighted include translating the content on a Chromebook device, changing the preferred language in the Chrome web browser, accessing Google Translate, Microsoft Translator, Immersive Reader, and more!

School of the Arts hosts workshop for interested students
School of the Arts (SOTA) at Central Gwinnett High School is hosting a pre-audition workshop on November 2 from 5:30 p.m. to 8 p.m. The workshop is designed to help students learn about the SOTA audition experience and provide information for all families and students interested in applying. You do not have to attend a workshop to audition for the program. Register here if you plan to attend.
Save the date: Café con la Familia
Hopkins Elementary School invites district families to “Café con la Familia” on Thursday, October 26, at 5:30 p.m. to share in a Spanish-language open community dialogue with our superintendent, Dr. Calvin J. Watts, district leaders, principals, assistant principals, and staff members who play crucial roles in shaping students’ educational journeys.
GCPS Foundation and Lidl team up to give back
The GCPS Foundation invites you to shop at Lidl through November as part of its Groceries that give back campaign and earn up to $50,000 for your child’s school’s athletic programs and other extracurricular activities.
