Principal's Message
This week is Homecoming Week at AHS!! Our Homecoming parade will be on Thursday, Oct. 3 beginning at 5:30 p.m. There will be a pep rally at the Daikin Amphitheater following the parade. Our Homecoming game will be on Friday, Oct. 4 vs. Huntsville @ Home @ 7:00 p.m. Go Bears!
Also this week our Flag Football team will play Decatur on Tuesday @ Ogle Stadium and our Volleyball team will play Decatur @ Home on Monday! Go Bears! BEAT DECATUR!

New Parade Route
- There is a new starting point for the Homecoming Parade.
- Lineup for the parade will take place at Central Office located at 212 4th Avenue SE. (The exact lineup for participants will be emailed out on Monday, September 30th.)
- The parade will unload on Church Street just prior to Canal Street.
Pinson Valley Band Competition
- The Pride of Austin High Band performed at the Pinson Valley Competition on Saturday.
- The Band received Superior Ratings for: Band, Drum Majors, Majorettes, Color Guard, and Percussion.
- The Drum Majors and Majorettes also received the Best in Class Awards.
- Great Job Band!
Morgan County Runner-Ups
- Congratulations to the Volleyball Team on finishing 2nd in the Morgan County Tournament!
Homecoming Dance Information
- AHS is hosting our Homecoming Dance on Saturday, Oct. 5 in the AHS Cafeteria.
- Tickets will go on sale on Monday, Sept. 30 in the Cafeteria and the main office. The last day to buy tickets is Friday, Oct. 4.
- Tickets are $20.00 per person.
- TICKETS WILL NOT BE SOLD AT THE DOOR.
- This year, Seniors and Juniors are allowed to bring an outside guest. The outside guest form must be turned in to the main office by Thursday, Oct. 3 by 3:30 p.m. No Exceptions.
- Any student who has been assigned CAS for the 24-25 school year will NOT be allowed to attend.
- We look forward to a fun night!!
Homecoming Dress-Up Themes
1st 9 Weeks Co-op Grade Information
FOLLOW THE STEPS BELOW TO OBTAIN YOUR 1st 9 WEEKS CO-OP GRADE! VERY IMPORTANT!!
DEADLINE: ON OR BEFORE Monday, October 7th!
1) GO to the COPY SUITE in the Cafeteria - Ms. Brown's office
2) Find the BLACK/ORANGE CO-OP GRADE CARD BIN
3) Look for the tab with the first letter of your last name to find your personalized GRADE CARD. The card will have your name printed at the top. There may be several cards in each folder. ONLY GRAB THE CARD WITH YOUR NAME. If you do not find a card with your name email Ms. Cushing.
4) Write in on the appropriate line WHERE you are working i.e. company/business
5) Write in on the appropriate line WHO is completing the card i.e. manager/supervisor
6) Pick up a copy of the Training Agreement folder in the front of the bin.
7) Have your manager/employer complete the GRADE CARD and the Training Agreement before the October 7th deadline!
8) DEADLINE TO RETURN - Monday, October 7th!
9) Return the completed GRADE CARD & Training Agreement to the BIN - place in the same folder (first letter last name) on or before the Monday, October 7th deadline!

Trumbauer Registration
If you plan on being a part of district Trumbauer, you must come and get a permission slip/information form outside of Ms. Miles' classroom in room F-110 and sign up on the sign-up sheet.
ALL FEES MUST BE PAID before you register (no later than 10/15/24).
The updated manual with more information is on the Trumbauer website.
If you do not have a drama class, you must email Whitney.Miles@dcs.edu to let her know you are planning to attend, as your IE will need to be pre-approved.
There will be no late registration.
