PLC Launch!
Direct Impact on Your Child's Learning Experience! β
Today, you might notice our staff is dressed in athletic wearβit's our WORK IT OUT WEDNESDAYS ππ»ββοΈ! Each Wednesday, your child's teachers come together as a grade level to dive into our assessment and classroom data, ensuring that every student receives the appropriate intervention or enrichment they need.
Our teachers are currently analyzing their new class's end-of-year data and beginning-of-year pre-assessments to establish our grade level Essential Outcomes (EOs), which outline what students must learn. Once these EOs are set, teachers collaborate to create impactful lessons and common assessments. These assessments are vital as they inform our decisions for reteaching or providing enrichment opportunities.
During this Professional Learning Collaboration (PLC) process, teachers focus on four key questions:
- What is it we want our students to know and be able to do?
- How will we know if each student has learned it?
- How will we respond when some students do not learn it?
- How will we extend the learning for students who have demonstrated proficiency?
This intentional approach keeps our instruction focused and helps our students progress throughout the year.
We believe in the PLC process, and our district does as well. Your support, along with that of our PTA, has been invaluable. Recently, we had the privilege of hosting a former principal from a nationally recognized PLC campus for training, which was a powerful experience for our teachers. We look forward to another full day of learning in October.
Thank you for your continued support in enhancing our students' education!
