BEH Weekly Family Message
September 9th, 2024
Last Week in Review
Summary of the Week:
Last week was an adventure, as we started kindergarten and got PK some practice days at BEH while also battling against the heat. We managed to make it through three and a half of the four day schedule before we were released early to avoid the high temps in our classrooms, particularly upstairs.
We did manage to get our first fire drill and site council in before the end of the week. You can check out info about Site Council and the recording of the meeting below if you are interested. With the early release on Friday, we are moving our Grandparents and Special Friends Day to this Friday, so look below for more details on that.
This week we will be kicking off our official start of PK, our first PTA meeting, and we will hold our rescheduled annual Grandparent & Special Friends Day event.
Looking forward to a cooler week and continuing to get into the groove of the new year.
Grandparents & Special Friends Day (This Friday 9/13):
Our annual Grandparents and Special Friends Day was canceled last week due to the heat. As a result, we have rescheduled it for this Friday, September 13th. Grandparents/Special Friends can come to the school as early as 2:00 PM to visit with Mr. Kaveh, ask questions, and hear about what we are doing at BEH. At 2:30 they will pick up their students from their classes and then we will meet in the gym for some collaborative activities hosted by our art teacher (Ms. Jenn) and our PTA.
BEH Site Council:
Last week our Site Council from last school year met to closeout our discussions and info from the end of the last school year. This is a nominated/elected team of parents that are chosen to represent our families in these discussions throughout the year and help guide our decision making as a school. We meet about six times a year virtually and record the meetings to share with everyone from BEH. If you are interested in potentially joining our Site Council this year, check out our recording of the last meeting to get an idea of what kind of info we generally cover and then come to our PTA meeting this week to nominate yourself for the team.
SUN Registration Update:
Hello Boise Families, there may have been some confusion with the original link that went out for SUN . Below is the actual link for the SEI application for the 24-25 school year . Every student needs this application completed to participate in SUN. That being said SUN is a first come first serve enrollment and families will need to attend back to school night to fully register their student for SUN. It is not until they receive an email confirmation from Ms. Ali that they are enrolled in SUN. Ms. Ali is back in the building and can further answer any questions that you may have. Her email is Alshawndam@selfenhancement.org or you can reach her during business hours (8am-5pm) at 503-753-2642. SUN is ONLY for Students K-5th grade!
PTA Meeting this Wednesday 9/11:
Greetings from the PTA
The first PTA meeting of the '24-'25 school year is this Wednesday.
Please join us in person or online to share your ideas and learn more about volunteer opportunities this season.
We will meet in person in the Library at 5:30 and online using this Zoom LINK
School All Day All Five Days This Week:
This week we have school everyday and continue to open doors at 7:55 and dismiss at 2:30. I had heard rumors of people thinking there may be some odd days this week, but this is not accurate. We have school everyday and they are full days. Our first early release is not until the 25th of this month.
