Wrangler Weekly
Week of October 27, 2024
Message from Ms. Bratton, principal
We have a big week coming up -- it's SV Homecoming & Red Ribbon Week. To build some excitement, our teachers did "underground dress up days" this week. It didn't take long and the kids were on to us... all the teachers and staff were unified and your kiddos caught on quickly. By Thursday morning, students knew they should expect a new "trend" on Friday and were excited to see what it would be. A big thank you to Ms. Womble and Ms. Gaston for organizing this. You can see the fun in the pictures below.
Next week, our team hopes to continue the excitement with a raffle for students and staff who participate in Red Ribbon Week theme days. Those participating each day will be able to swipe their ID (no temporary IDs) to enter the daily drawing for a custom SBMS Swag Shirt. Should be fun -- see spirit day themes below to help your kiddo get creative. (Don't go buy things -- use what you have: it'll be great!)
- Monday - wear red
- Tuesday - tacky tourist (how ironic, our 7th graders are going on a field trip)
- Wednesday - grill master (how many Coach Odom look alikes will we find?)
- Thursday - sr. citizen/honor elders
- Friday -Wrangler spirit/SV homecoming!
Finally, just a reminder that this is a "fresh" grading period. We have seen improvement in students self-monitoring their grades and then following up with needed corrections or make up work. Our focused efforts on this during Wrangler Time every Monday are paying off for most students -- we will continue the effort and work to build students who are analytical and goal-focused.
P.S. We are excited for the PTA Dance tonight! Be sure you have your pick up number so our line moves quickly -- we know you don't want to spend your Friday night stuck in a long line. 💙
Go Wranglers!

A Message from Nurse Keith
We are starting to see some illnesses on campus. Please be aware of Comal ISD policy regarding fever, which requires that all students and staff be free of fever (100 degrees and above) for at least 24 hours, without the use of fever reducing medications, before returning to school. Thank you for working with us to help prevent the spread of illnesses at school.
