Principal's Message

Greetings, Panthers!!

I hope that you've had a relaxing weekend! Panther family, thank you so much for a wonderful first week of school! As we prepare for week two, please be sure to listen to this message in its entirety or read the message by clicking the link you've received in the Sunday Message email and/or text.

Thank you for your patience during dismissal last week! If you have not picked up a car rider decal, please stop by the front office before dismissal. Scholars will not be released to cars without a car rider decal. Additionally, if your scholar is a walker, you must wait for your scholar by the walkers gate. Parents, student safety is our priority. If there is a change in how your scholar will get home, please communicate that change with their teacher. Please refrain from sending messages about changes to your scholar's dismissal through your scholar(s). If you aren't able to reach the teacher, please call the front office before 3:00pm.

The Code of Student Conduct was reviewed with all scholars on the first day of school. Please know that scholars will be held responsible for their behavior and we will follow the OCPS Discipline Procedures Guide for the appropriate consequences for all offenses. On Wednesday, the Code of Student Conduct will be reviewed with all newly enrolled students.

As a reminder, Wednesday is an early release day and school will be dismissed at 2:30pm.

On Thursday, August 22nd at 5:00pm, we invite you to attend our School Advisory Council (SAC) and Parent Teacher Association (PTA) Meet & Greet! You will have an opportunity to meet the current members and learn the purpose of both SAC and PTA. We encourage all staff, parents and community members to become a member of our Phillis Wheatley PTA. Membership is $8 per person. We hope that you will join us and consider joining!

As always, thank you so much for your support and for all you do for the scholars at Phillis Wheatley Elementary! We look forward to seeing our scholars bright and early tomorrow morning by 8:15am.
