A Note from Ms. Looman
- Be sure your child checks the Lost & Found for any articles that may belong to them. Anything left after graduation on Monday will be donated.
On Monday, June 16th, we will be holding our 6th grade graduation ceremony beginning at 4:30pm. Weather permitting, the ceremony will be held outside on the blacktop. We will have the opportunity to celebrate our students' achievements, enjoy some light refreshments by the PTO, and then wish them all the best as they venture on to middle school.
I hope you all have a wonderful summer with your children! It is truly an honor to serve as your principal and I look forward to everyone's return in the fall.
Summer office hours: Mon-Thurs: 8am-11am.
A note from Nurse Kat
Hello Colrain Families,
With summer quickly approaching, I wanted to reach out and just let you know about a few local resources which may be of use to your family. You may already be aware of or connected with these programs, but I figure it doesn't hurt to have all of the information in one place, and repeated on the off chance it comes at just the right time! These programs are in place for a reason and are happy to help any families that they can reach.

The Mary Lyon Foundation provides support to local families in a few different ways. They offer an emergency fund for situations like a shut off notice for an overdue electric bill, etc. They also coordinate a fresh grocery delivery for free twice a month (every other Tuesday) which you can sign up for by filling out this short google form: https://docs.google.com/forms/d/e/1FAIpQLSd491nfdKUSkUhxlwDEh7nboVHzbraIlmyW_b_K460pyl7U1g/viewform
You can contact them by phone (413-625-2555) or email (office@marylyonfoundation.org). They are very responsive; if you reach out and don't hear back, feel free to reach out again or let me know and I can follow-up!
After the information regarding local supports for groceries went out last week it was brought to my attention that the link to apply for the Mary Lyon grocery delivery was not currently active. That is because they have just reached their cap of 50 families. They suggest checking the link occasionally over the summer as spaces may open up. Below are some more local food pantry locations and information. It looks like income verification may be needed by some but not all. If you have any questions, please don't hesitate to reach out!
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
There are also a few local food banks which are easy to use and which don't require income verification. Community Action can help connect you with these and other resources (like fuel assistance, WIC and other programs). You can contact Community Action at (cramos@communityaction.us) or by phone (413-773-5029). They have a short application for the food pantries which can be filled out ahead of time or at the location during your first visit. I also have copies of the application in my office, if you'd like one sent home with your child or to come pick one up just let me know!

As always, please don't hesitate to reach out if you need anything; more information about specific support/resources, help printing or filling out forms, financial support for vision exams/glasses etc. Supporting the health and wellbeing of our students extends far beyond our school walls and we are always happy to be of assistance however we are able!
Take care,
