News from the Cafeteria!
Families can customize their students breakfast and lunch spending by contacting MCSD food service people. Families can now add notes to a student meal account that can include limiting number of snacks they can purchase, days of the week they can purchase, types of items they can purchase or purchasing a second lunch. Customizing your students lunch account is easy and only takes 24 hours to be activated. Please call the following food service employees to add notes to your student’s lunch account:

All of our snack items are approved the USDA for our National School Lunch Program, and are Smart Snack approved. Here is the website where parents can get more information. Also keep in mind that fruits and vegetables are unlimited when purchasing meals. Additionally, fruits and vegetables are available for purchase if the student doesn't purchase a full meal.

STUDENT OF THE WEEK K-2
Star Student of the week Evia Memaj
Evia demonstrates the 5 B’s every day. She is follows directions the first time they are given. She comes to class on time with her materials ready and ready to pay attention. She takes care of her supplies and classroom supplies. She is respectful other students and every staff member she interacts with. She is always trying her and best and going above and beyond. Great job, Evia!
STUDENT OF THE WEEK 3-5
Meet Williams, our Student of the Week! Williams exemplifies empowerment through his unwavering determination and positive attitude. No challenge is too great for him; he consistently puts forth his best effort, showing resilience in the face of obstacles. His sense of responsibility shines through as he listens attentively, follows directions meticulously, and takes great care of his materials. Beyond his own success, Williams is always ready to lend a helping hand to classmates, embodying the spirit of teamwork and support. His dedication and kindness make him a true role model!
MIDDLE SCHOOL HAPPENINGS

Caden Holmes is the Middle School Student of the Week. Caden shows iBelieve expectations everyday! He is responsible, respectful, and always ready to learn. Great job, Caden! You are PKS PAW-SOME!
Media Center/Readers are Leaders
READERS ARE LEADERS
Readers are Leaders and Monroe County’s Culture of Literacy moves on to October. We are “Batty about BOOks” in October!
It could be fun to include literacy with your students as you decide on some of the different October dates including:
- October 3–9: Animal Welfare Week
- October 4–10: World Space Week
- October 6–12: Mental Illness Awareness Week
- October 9 - National Stop Bullying Day. We encourage everyone to wear a blue shirt to support this initiative.
