Middle School Spectator Code Of Conduct Agreement
To ensure that events at DCD represent our values and expectations, we have implemented a Spectator Agreement for Middle School Students. This is a similar practice to all other GBSD middle schools. Students may get a copy of the agreement in the front hallway. Below is the content of the agreement. This applies to all events (games, concerts, science nights, etc.). Additionally, students cannot attend without an adult present. This is also a practice when students attend events at other schools or high school events.
As a spectator attending DCD Middle School after school activities, I understand and agree to abide by the following code of conduct. My behavior reflects not only on myself but also on the school, the student-athletes, coaches, the performers, and the entire community. I recognize the importance of fostering a positive and supportive environment for all participants.
Expectations:
Respect for All: I will treat all individuals, including athletes, coaches, officials, performers, and fellow spectators, with respect and courtesy, regardless of the outcome of the game or event.
Sportsmanship: I will model good sportsmanship by applauding good plays, showing empathy in times of defeat, and refraining from negative comments or actions.
Follow Rules and Policies: I will adhere to all facility rules and event policies, including but not limited to seating arrangements, prohibited items, and designated areas.
Positive Communication: I will engage in positive and encouraging communication, avoiding any language or behavior that may be offensive, disrespectful, or disruptive.
No Harassment: I will not engage in any form of harassment, including verbal, physical, or visual harassment towards anyone present at the event.
Stay in Designated Areas: I will remain in designated spectator areas and will not enter the playing area or interfere with the game or performance in any way.
No Unauthorized Equipment: I will not bring any unauthorized noise-making devices, banners, signs, or other items that may distract or disrupt the event.
No Food or Drink: I will not bring food or drink into the gym. I will make sure the area is cleaner than when I started.
Follow Instructions: I will comply with any instructions given by event staff, officials, or school personnel.
Consequences for Violation:
Violations of this code of conduct will result in removal from the event and loss of after school activity privileges. Other appropriate consequences as determined by school administration may also apply.
