A note from Mr. Argiri:
Dear Emerson Families,
I hope this letter finds you well rested and relaxed after enjoying an amazing summer filled with family, friends and fun. On behalf of our entire staff I’d like to welcome our new and returning students to Ralph Waldo Emerson Elementary School for the 2023-2024 school year. Our staff has worked diligently over the summer to plan lessons, prepare classrooms, and ensure we are ready for the start of the new school year. We hope the information below may address any questions you may have at this time.
Staff has given careful consideration to each child’s placement for the 23-24 school year. By doing so we have created classrooms that are balanced both academically and socially to help ensure each child’s success. Student placement letters will be emailed to families the afternoon of August 23rd. If you have changed your email address or moved over the summer, please contact our office ASAP so we can ensure we have the correct contact information on file.
The first day of school will be on Monday, August 28th. This day is a half day and we begin at 11:30. We will not serve lunch or snacks on this day. Staff and I will be out front and visible to direct students for before school line-up as necessary this week. School-Aged Child Care (SACC) is NOT available on this day.
To keep families abreast of Emerson happenings, The "BULLDOG BARK" will continue to be published weekly and emailed home on Sundays. A list of important August/September/October dates may be found below in the meantime.
It is hard to believe this will be the 13th year I get the honor and privilege of serving as your Principal. As always, I am excited for the new year and can't wait to see our returning students and meet all our new students. I look forward to partnering with you this year to ensure your Bulldog has a rewarding and successful year! Should you have any questions, please feel free to reach out to us at any time!
Sincerely,
Mr. Argiri

NEW STUDENT TECHNOLOGY FORMS
FIRST DAY OF SCHOOL SIGNS
Celebrate the first day of school with your student! We have printable first day signs for every grade. Click on this LINK to access them.
Be sure to use #FraserFamily when you post on social media so we can share the smiles!
DOES YOUR CHILD HAVE MEDICAL NEEDS?
If your child has specific medical needs, please reach out to the main office prior to the start of school. In order to administer medication, consent forms must be completed. Consent forms for prescription medications must include dosage and frequency information signed by a physician. Medication, including inhalers, must be stored in the main office and not in backpacks or pockets. In addition, if your child has a medical plan, it will need to be updated for the 22-23 school year.
FIND YOUR CHILD'S BUS STOP ONLINE
Bus stop information will be available online for the 2023–2024 school year starting August 28. You can access your child’s bus stop information by visiting www.fraser.k12.mi.us. Click on the "Bus Stops" link and enter your address to retrieve your child’s bus stop information.
It is very important to check your child’s bus stop, as routes have been modified for the 2023–2024 school year.
Students will be assigned a route number in lieu of a bus number. The route number is located on the left side of the entry door. To ensure transportation, all students must be at their bus stop 10 minutes prior to the scheduled arrival time.
Please review with your child the bus rules found on the Transportation Department’s website.
