GMS NEWSLETTER
December 2024
MESSAGE FROM THE PRINCIPAL...
I would like to wish all of our parents and students a safe and Merry Christmas. Thank you to our staff and students for bringing in canned/boxed food to support the Kiwanis Christmas Basket Program. We have been enjoying a friendly competition (Penny Wars) to raise money for the baskets. This competition will continue until Tuesday, December 10th. Keep bringing in those pennies!

FINANCIAL LITERACY
Gaylord Middle School is pleased to announce our partnership with Community Financial Credit Union. Community Financial will be implementing a student-run credit union program, allowing students to become members and gain valuable experience in managing their finances.
There will be five designated deposit days where students can bring additional savings to school and deposit them into their accounts. Students are receiving information in their seminar classes. Mrs. Fitzgerald’s Math Connections class will run the student credit union branch at our school. Students enrolled in the program will receive a savings passport and money pouch this year. In addition, Community Financial will provide resources to support teaching students the importance of saving and managing their money.
THANK YOU VETERANS!
This year's Veterans Day Assembly was a wonderful celebration! GMS staff and students were honored to pay tribute to over 150 veterans along with their families and guests, in our 28th annual assembly.
