October Family Night: HMS Literacy Night!
We had a great time at our Halloween themed literacy family night! The evening began with candy salads and a brief presentation from the Ella Johnson Library about upcoming events. The remainder of the event included spooky word games, suspenseful reader's theater, Halloween Scattergories and an i-ready data room. Thank you for joining us!
Attendance Matters!
As a reminder, it is important that students attend school daily. Missing just two days per month equates to 20 days missed in the year. That is 20 periods of each class or 40 periods of ELA, that students will need to make up to stay on track. Set your students up for success by helping them get to school every day possible.

Please be sure to remind your students that if they are staying to cheer our teams on, they cannot leave school campus and return. We're excited to showcase our school spirit and pack our gym and we do that best when our students follow their PAWS! Any inappropriate or disrespectful language and actions may result in the student's removal from the event as well as potential restrictions from attending other events throughout the school year.
8th Grade iReady Incentive!
Attention 8th Grade Students! Starting November 1, we are launching an engaging i-Ready incentive program. For each completed and passed i-Ready lesson, students will earn a raffle ticket, with drawings held every Thursday during lunch. Winners will have the opportunity to select items from our snack cart, including candy, chips, cookies, and beverages. We encourage all students to complete at least one math and one i-Ready lesson weekly, with additional completion providing more chances to win. Let's make learning rewarding!
