Update/ School News
Believe it or not, we will be 1/4 of the way through the school year after Friday! Students, you have one more week to bring your grades up. Remember, this is the grade check that counts for winter sports. If you do not have a 2.0 GPA on Friday, you cannot try out on the 15th
Parents and Guardians, please be on the lookout for information regarding the Maryland Youth Risk Behavior and Youth Tabacco Survey. Information was sent home with your child on Friday, October 25, 2024. If you do not want your child(ern) to participate in the survey, please complete the opt-out form, and have your child turn it into their 1st block teacher no later then Friday, November 1, 2024. Thanks!
To parents and guardians dropping off their children in the morning, be sure to use the loop in front of the school and not park in the student lot. This will ensure students can park in their assigned parking spots. Thanks for your cooperation in this matter.
On Tuesday, October 29, 2024, students of the 2027 class will participate in the PSAT! Encourage your children to get a good night's rest. Additionally, encourage students to charge their school-assigned laptops and chargers to their designated testing rooms. Students will report to their testing rooms upon arrival to eat breakfast and check in for PSAts.
Students- You are not permitted to wear costumes for Halloween to school.

Technology Obligations
Starting November 1, 2024, CCPS will begin to obligate students for damaged and missing technology equipment. The CCPS Student Technology Obligation Program is designed to promote students' responsible use of technology and reduce damage costs through a tier-based pricing system. This program aligns with the Technology Obligation Regulation (Reference: III.31.71R) and the CCPS Terms of Use Agreement governing the use of technology by students.
Program Objectives:
- Cost Reduction: Minimize repair and replacement costs for student-issued technology devices.
- Responsibility Encouragement: Encourage students to take responsibility for the care and use of their assigned devices.
Tiered Pricing Reference: For details on the tiered pricing structure, please take a look at the Tiered Obligation Pricing. This document outlines the pricing levels based on the type and extent of damage.
Payment Processing: Tech obligations are treated like any other in-school obligation:
- In-School Payments: Payments may be collected at the school level and forwarded to the Central Office Finance Department for processing. When a payment is received in school, it must be documented, and the in-school tech should be notified to update the system accordingly.
- Online Payments: Parents and students can also make payments conveniently online using MySchoolBucks at CCPS Tech Payments.

Jostens will return to the school on October 21 to take cap and gown orders during all lunch shifts. ORDERS CAN BE PLACED WITHOUT A DOWN PAYMENT. PAYMENT CAN BE MADE AT A LATER DATE.
