News of the week from the CDHS Band Program!
Announcements for March 28th, 2025
Hello Everyone! Crazy to think April is right around the corner! There are lots of important information in the newsletter below. Please note that, as of next week, I will be out on FMLA as we bring our daughter home from the NICU. I will be checking email weekly, so if you have any questions, I can answer them. Mr. Joe Omeila (Mr. O), a local retired music teacher and district substitute teacher, is coming in to teach while I am away. Please welcome and say "Hi!" to Mr. O when you see him.
DOCTOR'S NOTES for upcoming trips: For the upcoming Virginia and WGI Championship trips, please note that any student attending these trips that needs prescription medication need to get a doctors order from their primary care provider for all prescription and over-the-counter medications. These notes and medications must be turned into the high school Nurses Office by April 11th. Please reach out to the nurses office with any questions!
Band Booster Meeting: The next meeting of the CDHS Band boosters is Tuesday, April 1st at 7pm in the Band room. Come on out and hear what's going on and how to support the CDHS Band program.
Spring Plant Sale: Just in time for Mothers Day, we are holding our Flower Fundraiser starting April 1st. All band students are asked to support the band's flower sale. We are selling potted Geraniums, Daisies, and Begonias, and hanging baskets: Boston Ferns, Wave petunias, and Calibrachoa (mini petunias).
Orders: April 1 - 22
Cost: $10 each potted flower
$30 each hanging basket
Pick up : at May 7 concert
Orders and money due in The Box by April 22

Band Officer Bake Sales:
A message from our student band officers:
We need your help to make our bake sales a success! When our monthly bake sale comes around the following items are much-needed and greatly appreciated donations:
- Cookies
- Brownies
- Cupcakes (Store bought; full size or mini)
- Rice Krispie Treats
Chocolate-covered pretzels
- Fudge
- Any other baked goods…
** Any homemade goods must be individually packaged **
Bake Sale Dates:
Friday, May 9th + Monday, May 12th
If you wish to donate baked goods to any of our bake sales, please bring or have the donations brought to Mr. Tate's office the day before or the day of the bake sale.
