Announcements for October 1, 2024
For any person that is new to the CDHS Band Program, my name is Mr. Tate, one of the band directors at Central Dauphin High School. I teach the three concert bands (9th grade Concert Band, The Symphonic Band, and The Wind Ensemble), the Concert Percussion Ensemble, the Marching Band, and a few other music electives. To start off the year, and throughout the year, I'll be sending out email announcements, along with, new for this year, Remind App text messages communicating with you. Band-a-RAMa Volunteer Sign ups: Band-a-RAMa is FAST approaching and is on Saturday, October 12, 2024, with a rain date of October 13th.
This is one of the biggest fundraisers for the band program of the entire year. Even though this is a marching band event, the funds raised benefits the ENTIRE band program at CDHS. We need all hands on deck to help make this day a success. Please use the links below to volunteer your time or items needed. Our non-marching students are able to sign up and volunteer their time.

Remind App- New for this year, we will be switching any communications that use to take place through "other app based" communications, to the Remind App. The Remind App will send text messages through to your phone that you used to register at CDHS. CDSD has mandated that we switch to this platform and we will be moving everything to this platform in short order. Please stay tuned for further information about this.
Calendar Lottery: All band students have received calendar lottery fundraiser tickets. We ask that everyone sell at least 6, $10 tickets. This is a very easy fundraiser for the program, due to not having to worry about anything other than returning the money you sold the tickets for and the rip off customer information tab on the bottom of each ticket. With every student selling 6 tickets in the program, the band boosters would be set to receive $6-7,000 to support our bands and band students. All directions and information are included in each envelope. Please email if you have any questions after looking through the information.
The Band Spring Trip to Virginia: There will be a mandatory informational meeting for all band members and families who plan on attending this year's performance trip to Norfolk, VA and Washington, DC with the CDHS Band Program. This meeting has just been scheduled for October 9th, in the CDHS Auditorium from 6pm-7:30pm. We'll be going over final itineraries, stops, events, performances, along with costs and payment schedules. This trip is also open to parents who would like to go along as chaperones. If you plan on attending the trip, please make sure you are in attendance!! We will also be kicking off our largest fundraiser of the year for the band program that night, our annual RamBand-Bands-Together campaign. This is a capital campaign that offers a way for students to fundraise trip fees along with bring in money that supports the band program and the trip.
