Principal's Message
Dear Ross Roadrunner Families,
I hope you are enjoying the beautiful autumn weather and gorgeous foliage!
If your family celebrates Halloween, I hope to see you at our annual PTA sponsored "Spooktacular" on Thursday at 5:00pm for activities and trick or treating on 17th Street followed by a pizza party at Pupatella. Please see the attached flier for details and to sign up to volunteer. Costumes are encouraged; no toy weapons, please and no costumes during the school day.
Warm Regards,
Holly Searl, Principal
Pokémon Club Opportunity for 2nd & 3rd Graders
The American Association of School Librarians and the American Library Association are sponsoring the Pokémon Online Trading Card Game at libraries around the country. Ross will be hosting our own club on Tuesdays from 3:30-4:30 (students who are currently playing soccer at Stead will be picked up at Ross at 4:30 by their soccer coach and escorted to Stead). Students do not need to have any experience or knowledge about how to play. This is the perfect opportunity for your child to explore how to play the game, not just collect the cards. The cognitive processes needed for game play, as well as expansion of creativity, imagination, logic development, experimentation and the process of evaluation are all skills that are involved in Pokémon.
Please contact Ross Librarian Lisa Juriga to enroll your child in this free after-school enrichment at lisa.juriga@k12.dc.gov.
