Dear Dr. Crisp Families,
Happy Veteran's Day and Thank you to those whom have served our country.
We are excited to welcome families into school this Wednesday for our last night of Parent/Teacher Conferences. Please reach out to your child's teacher if you have not scheduled one. Crisp School Wide Behavior Matrix
We will start to use a School Wide Behavior Matrix to help our students and staff understand and know the expectations in each of the areas of our school. It is essential to create a space that staff can teach and students can learn. Please talk with your child about this.
Zones of Regulation
We are continuing to work on creating a place where students can be successful and feel safe. Our Social and Emotional Teacher, Mrs. Marston is starting to teach with Zones of Regulation during every classes SEL block. Below is a letter explaining Zones of Regulation.
Dyslexia Laws and Reading Plans
According to New Hampshire state laws, RSA 200:58 and RSA 200:59, upon entry to school, school districts are required to screen all students, grades kindergarten through third grade, for the identification of potential indicators or risk factors of dyslexia and related disorders. These results do not indicate a diagnosis of dyslexia, rather, they provide valuable information that allows us to target specific instructional needs. By administering these screeners, we can ensure that any reading difficulties are identified early on, allowing us to provide the necessary support and interventions to help your child succeed.
Using Amplify’s mCLASS with Dibels 8 online assessment platform and additional, secondary screening tools, the following areas are assessed: ● Phonemic Awareness ● Letter-Sound Knowledge ● Decoding and Phonics ● Oral Reading Fluency ● Comprehension Upon completion of our assessments, we have determined that your child would benefit from targeted reading support that will reinforce the development of these early literacy skills.
This support may take place within the classroom or in other small-group instructional settings. To support your child’s needs, we have developed an Individual Reading Improvement Plan to help target the following areas: ____ Phonemic Awareness ____ Letter-Sound Knowledge ____ Decoding and Phonics Skills ____ Oral Reading Accuracy ____ Oral Reading Fluency ____ Basic Comprehension If your child's score necessitate support and interventions, your child’s teacher will discuss the assessment results and Individual Reading Improvement Plan with you at your upcoming conference.
Regular progress monitoring will allow us to make the necessary adjustments to your child’s intervention plan to ensure that growth is being made. Identifying and addressing any reading difficulties is an essential part of ensuring academic success, therefore, we thank you for your continued partnership as we work together to support your child.

21 Century Afterschool
Submit Student Enrollment Application HERE!
Please make sure to select Dr. Crisp Elementary School when registering.
This year, we have made some important updates to our registration process to better serve our community and meet the requirements set by our federal grant from the New Hampshire Department of Education. Please take a moment to review these key changes:
Enrollment Process: Enrollment will be on a first-come, first-served basis, while also reserving space for students identified by school leadership, teachers, and student support teams as most in need of support. Please note that submitting an enrollment application does not guarantee acceptance into the program. We will notify families of their enrollment status as soon as possible.
Returning Students: We value the continuity of education for our students. To ensure that returning students have the opportunity to continue their learning journey with us, we have allocated specific spots for them in the upcoming year.
Referred Students: In accordance with our federal grant guidelines, we will also be reserving registration spots for students who are referred to our program. This practice is similar to the approach we took during our summer Power Scholars program and is essential for maintaining the support provided by our federal funding.
Non-program Days: The 21st Century program will no longer offer complimentary memberships for the Boys & Girls Club of Greater Nashua as an alternative after-school option. While 21st Century will remain closed on non-school days such as Early Release, holidays, and school vacation days, we encourage you to reach out to youth-serving organizations like the Boys & Girls Club of Greater Nashua, Girls Inc., the Police Athletic League, the Salvation Army or the YMCA of Greater Nashua to inquire about your child’s ability to attend their programs on days that 21st Century is not available. Please note that these organizations may have separate costs for membership to their programs. Please be sure to familiarize yourselves with our program calendar so that you are aware of days that the 21st Century program will not be offered.
We understand that these changes may affect the registration process for some of our families. However, these adjustments are necessary to comply with the requirements that allow us to continue offering the high-quality programming you’ve come to expect from us.
We appreciate your understanding and cooperation as we implement these new registration practices. Should you have any questions or need further clarification, please do not hesitate to reach out to our program office.
Thank you for your continued support, and we look forward to another successful year together!
