Falcon Flyer
Week of 10/28/24
Principal's Messaage
Dear Falcon Families,
Students are getting ready for Red Ribbon Week® 2024 – this year’s theme is: Life Is A Movie, Film Drug Free. TM. At school, students will engage in activities that promote a drug free and healthy lifestyle. Please partner with us and discuss this message at home, at the dinner table, at family outings, and with friends and extended family. Ask your child to show you the flyer he/she received from school about Red Ribbon Week®.
On November 7th, the steering committee will visit Otay as part of the next steps for becoming a Community School, which include interviewing two families. If you're interested in participating, please reach out to me as soon as possible.
Looking ahead, we have our PTA Sponsored Family Movie Night on 11/15. Save the date. We look forward to seeing you there!

The Learning Pit
These students were recognized at our SOAR Assembly on 10/25 for getting in the pit, the learning pit. Go Falcons!
Continue to ask your child daily: Did you get into the Learning Pit? At Otay, we encourage students to use a growth mindset to face challenges, have a go at something new, try with a willingness to be confused or make mistakes along the way, and to persist in problem solving.
Attendance-Come to school every day, all day

Friendly Reminders
Together we soar! #Partnership
- For safety reasons, students must wear flat, close-toed shoes
- Every minute of instruction counts. If your child forgets snack, lunch, or water, do not worry. Second Chance and lunch will be provided. They also have access to water fountains. We kindly ask that you refrain from dropping off any items. Let’s work together to help our falcons build responsibility.
- Please note that if your child is not picked up on time at dismissal, you'll need to sign them out from the office.
