We have enjoyed meeting our new Kindergarten Eagles! Registration is every day from 9-2. Please share the flyers with family and friends.

This week is Assistant Principal Appreciation Week! We are so grateful for Mrs. Bright. She works hard to keep our school safe and fosters a positive and inclusive environment.

Awards Day is Monday, April 7. If your child is receiving an award, their teacher will contact you.

Our CharacterStrong Celebration is Tuesday, April 8 for students who have shown good behavior for the third nine weeks.

Wednesday, April 9 is an Early Release Day. Our PTO is sponsoring a Rockstar Magic Day for all K-5 students in the morning prior to students dismissal at 12:15.

Thursday, April 10 is our Math and Science Night from 5:00-6:30. The courtyard next to the cafeteria will have science experiments and the multipurpose room will have math activities. The STEM van will have a Garden to Glove activity in front of the cafeteria. This is a FREE event and all families are welcome to attend. Colevanelli's Italian Ice will also be there!

Friday, April 11 is Purple Up Day for our Military affiliated students. Please wear purple to show your support for these amazing students.

Friday, April 11 is our National Elementary Honor Society Induction Ceremony. More information will be coming home soon if your child was selected. Students who are already a member should wear their shirts to the ceremony.

Please ask your child to check outside the front office for their missing jacket. Our lost and found is continuing to grow. We will donate these items on Friday, April 11 if they are not picked up.

Monday, April 14 through Friday, April 18 is Spring Break. There will be no school for staff or students. There will be a Teacher Workday on Monday, April 21.

Contact our data manager, Jennifer Fountain, to sign up for Parent Portal. This gives you access to up-to-date information on student attendance for your child, as well as third through fifth grade assignments. https://onslow.powerschool.com/public/

You can contact Jennifer Fountain, data manager at jennifer.fountain@onslow.k12.nc.us to assist with this process. She will look up your child's ID number when you email her the completed form and copy of your ID.

Are you a parent looking for ways to contribute to Summersill Elementary? There are several opportunities for parents to get involved and support our Eagle family. Please review each opportunity below.

* Parent Teacher Organization: This group meets in person and sends in special treats for staff throughout the year

* Parent Volunteer: Parents have to be volunteered trained each year and fingerprinted at the district office every five years

* Room Parent: Assists the teacher with various things for the classroom

* Strategic Planning Team: School stakeholders (parents, teachers, administration) work together to improve the school
