Principal's Message

We hope everyone had a good first five-day school week of the year this past week and are enjoying the start of fall with the change in colors and shift in seasons. That is one of the beautiful parts of living where we do and that is the four seasons we have. Having said that, it does get a bit tricky at times when we have four seasons in a day but so far, so good.


It is hard to believe we are already in the second half of September but what’s the saying, time flies when you are having fun. Speaking of fun, this is our week of welcome for our Grade 7s. Thank you to our leadership students and staff for all their planning in the intentional work in getting our new students adjusted and feeling a part of the fabric of Sherwood Heights.

This week brings us to Meet the Teacher night on Tuesday, September 17, at 5:00 p.m. followed by our first school council meeting in the library at 6:00 p.m. All are welcome and we hope to see you here!

In closing, and under the ‘did you know’ category. Our students do amazing things, and it is important we collectively celebrate their achievements. We also know that our alumni do amazing things once they move on from us. To all the Amazing Race fans out there: Did you know that this season's winner, Katie Mulkay, is a Sherwood Heights alumna? She attended Sherwood Heights for grades 7 to 9! We are incredibly proud of her and her teammate, Taylor, for their outstanding season. Winning in their hometown makes their achievement even more special!
