Girls Swim & Dive Makes Waves Winning 1st COC Championship in Programs History
“We’ve got a great group of girls,” said Ozark coach Steve Boyce. “Two years ago they were freshmen and they were sophomores a year ago and now they’re juniors with a couple seniors sprinkled in there. They’ve really come along, it was their turn. They’ve done the work and the training to get to this point. They were willing to spread out their events and be in some good spots. We had somebody on the podium in almost everything.”

This week, OHS junior Brooke Guyer has been selected as an Athlete of the Week! Brooke is a member of girls swim and dive team, who recently won the programs first COC Championship. During the COC Championship she set a new COC record in the 200m Individual Medley and helped the team secure numerous other first place wins, including the 200m medley relay, the 100m backstroke and the 400m relay.
"Brooke breaking the COC record in the IM was awesome,” Head Coach Steve Boyce said. “She didn’t have anybody to race with so doing it by herself was incredible."
Congrats Brooke!
This week, OHS junior Caden Harrington has been selected as an Athlete of the Week! Caden is an important member of the boys wrestling team. He recently won his second straight title at the COC tournament and is just five wins away from the 100-win club.
Congrats Caden!
This week, junior Ellie Harmon has been selected as our Artist of the Week! Ellie is one of OHS's very talented band students. She plays multiple instruments and has been honored numerous times for her talent, according to Assistant Band Director Dj Faught.
"Ellie plays oboe and is a member of this year's Missouri All-State Band," Faught said. "She is a hard worker and leader in our program. Not only is she great on the oboe, but her piano skills are an asset to our front ensemble during the marching season."
Congrats Ellie!
This week OHS senior Becca Gallo has been selected as our Tiger of the Week! Becca is a member of Educators Rising and has really thrived in the organization and definitely has a future in education, according to sponsor Trista Hilton.
"Last year, she competed at state and won first place with her creative lecture about student connectedness after the pandemic," Hilton said. "This year, she will be attending state and competing in a children's literacy competition as well as a lesson planning competition. Becca has been heavily involved in the OHS Education and Training Program, accumulating hundreds of internship hours within the program while excelling in the seated classroom as well. On top of that, she already holds a teaching position at a local preschool and wishes to continue teaching preschool after graduation. Becca is one of those kids that I wish I could keep in my class forever! She is a lovely student, inside and out, and we are so blessed to have her."
Congrats Becca!
