Message from Mr. Kingery
Hello Art Rutkin Ram Families,
We were excited to have our first field day today. A big thank you to Holly Satterlee (PE) and Amy McKean (music) who worked together with our volunteers to put on another successful event at Art Rutkin this year. We appreciate all the volunteer support! We have had an amazing first year, and a lot was accomplished with our amazing PSO and volunteers.
PSO - June 10th
We will take some time during the PSO meeting on Monday, June 10th, in our school library to recognize and appreciate our PSO and committee chair members. All their hard work and support helped make this a successful first year at Art Rutkin.
FTTS and Art In The Burbs
The Foundation for Tigard-Tualatin Schools (FTTS), and Art In The Burbs deserve big thank yous as well. The funding from FTTS and Art In The Burbs supported small groups for additional math instruction and school-wide art projects to commemorate this first year respectively. We are excited to brighten up more walls around school with recently completed art projects with student thumb prints and hand prints. We are so grateful for Leah Baldwin and our Art Literacy volunteers who helped complete these amazing projects.
Last Day of School
Friday, June 14th, will be an early release for all elementary students at 11:15 AM. Breakfast will be served as usual. A “grab and go” lunch for students is available for those families who request lunch on the last day. Lunch must be ordered in advance through your child’s teacher or our school office. Here are the release times for elementary, middle and high schools on June 14th.
- 11:15 am Elementary School
- 12:05 pm Middle School
- 12:55 pm High School
We hope you all enjoy this sunny weekend ahead.
Mr. Kingery

Art Rutkin Thumb Print Project
The first students and staff to walk the halls have left their mark! Our thumbprint project is done and ready for hanging on the second floor across from the elevator. Make sure to watch for it this fall! This project was funded by the Art in the Burbs grant. This grant comes from the proceeds of the annual fall "Art in the Burbs" art show at Tigard High School. Every school in the district receives a grant so thank you to those that shopped the show and watch for information for the next one this fall. This is one of three projects we are doing. The other ones include handprints and some fun fence artwork. All projects will be complete this fall to help make our school more colorful.
While Art Lit is finished for this year, if anyone is interested in helping in the classrooms next year, please reach out! You can email Leah Baldwin at: rutkinartlit@gmail.com. This is a volunteer led art curriculum funded by the PSO. Thank you to all the volunteers who helped this year and we're looking forward to even more projects next year! Happy summer everyone!
