To prepare for All Souls Day and throughout the month of November, members of the VEYM in union with the Church are called to commemorate those who have departed from this life but have yet attained the blessings of life everlasting. The Church reminds us that through praying and doing acts of sacrifice to pray for the souls in purgatory, we have the privilege to expedite their union with the Merciful Father.

As such, during the month of November, all members of the VEYM are invited to do the following daily to pray for all souls:

a. Pray 1 Our Father, 1 Hail Mary and 1 Glory Be.
b. Pray “Eternal rest grant to them, O Lord, and let perpetual light shine upon them. May the souls of the faithful departed, through the mercy of God, rest in peace. Amen.”
c. Pray to the intention of the Holy Father.

All League of Chapters Presidents and Chapter Presidents are invited to participate and push hard this campaign at your level throughout the month of November. Praying for the departed souls is a responsibility of VEYM and in doing so, bring relief to the suffering souls in purgatory and hasten their journey to eternity. The Assessment of Student Academic Performance (ASAP) timeline is here! After piloting the ASAP Benchmark for the first two years, we are proudly entering the 3rd year of its implementation. With a growing need to better understanding our curriculum and progress, the ASAP Benchmark 2019-2020 will kick off in March 2020. All materials will be distributed electronically to the League of Chapters in accordance to the organizational methods of communication. Please contact us via email should you have any questions. We look forward to your participation in this year’s assessment.

We are now into Phase IV of the campaign from October 1st to December 31st! Encouraging all Chapters to push hard and finish strong our National Living the Eucharistic Day Campaign daily as we resume sinh hoạt! (Sign of the Cross in the morning, noon and night; Day and Night Offering; Reflection, Act of Contrition and Holy Communion or Spiritual Communion; 1 Our Father, 3 Hail Mary and 1 Glory Be.)

Rev. Bình Nguyễn, SVD and Tr. Dương Hoàng recently attended a meeting with the Asian and Pacific Islander church leaders and ministry representatives at the USCCB's Encountering Christ in Harmony gathering and dialogue this weekend. May we all come together as one for we "though many, are one body" (1 Cor. 12:12). God bless!!

The VEYM/TNTT was invited to the United States Conference of Catholic Bishops (USCCB) for a studio recording/panel discussion on best practices to evangelize our faith within our ethnic community, among the youth and within the Catholic Church here in the US based on the Encountering Christ in Harmony publication. The panel was chaired by Bishop Oscar Azarcon Solis, D.D., USCCB's Chairman for the Subcommittee on Asian and Pacific Island Affairs, and narrated by Dr. Jem Sullivan, author and professor. Tr. Dương Hoàng (President, BCHTU TNTT) represented the VEYM/TNTT at this important discussion. God is good!!

Rock your day with the Eucharist!

We're excited to share that two of our Huynh Trưởng, Chi Phạm and Dương Hoàng are invited to present a breakout session on our Living the Eucharistic Day initiative at the National Catholic Youth Conference (NCYC) this year. Over 50 of our youth members from Liên Đoàn Gioan Phaolô II will be in attendance to represent the VEYM/TNTT. Thanks be to God!!!

The NCYC is organized by the National Federation for Catholic Youth (NFCYM) once every two years. NCYC brings together over 20,000 participants for a fascinating weekend full of music, excitement, prayers, workshops, and liturgies.
