Support for Storm-Affected Families

February 29, 2024
Dear Hawthorn Families,
As many of you are aware, Tuesday night’s storm has significantly impacted our community, leaving over 50 Mundelein residents displaced, including multiple Hawthorn students and their families.
Since the storm’s damage was reported on Tuesday night, we’ve been in close contact with our affected families to understand their immediate needs and ensure they receive the necessary support. Additionally, we have been working closely with the Mundelein School District 120, the Red Cross, and Lake County’s Emergency Management Agency. Through these collaborations, we have ensured that our affected families have access to shelter and warm meals. Our Hawthorn Food Pantry is distributing additional food, hygiene products and other essential items to further assist these families.
There are many ways you can help the impacted families. If you wish to contribute to our efforts, we welcome monetary donations to the Hawthorn Food Pantry. These funds will be used to directly support these families, addressing their immediate and ongoing needs. *To make a contribution, please visit: https://hawthorn73.revtrak.net/donations/.
Thank you for your continued dedication to our students and community during this difficult time. We will keep you all updated as more information becomes available. If you have any questions or suggestions, please reach out to our family liaison, Gaby Cervantes at 847-990-4245 or cervantesg@hawthorn73.org.
*Donations made to the Hawthorn Food Pantry are tax deductible.
