Walking Path Contruction
Beginning Monday, September 16, the township will be doing some work on the walking path our students use frequently. Attached is a google earth image. The red line is how students typically travel. This route will not be available beginning Monday, September 16. The township anticipates the project will take about one week. Students should use the yellow path marked on the image instead. We will have cones to help guide the way.
I ask that you are all mindful of your driving habits in the parking lot and along Rolling Hills Boulevard and Turk Road while they complete this project.
Please let me know if you have any questions by emailing cadelberger@cbsd.org or calling 267-893-3900.
Thank you in advance for your understanding.

Create a Meal Payment Account for Your Student on MySchoolBucks
CBSD utilizes the online platform MySchoolBucks for school meal payments, making it easy to oversee a child's meal choices and maintain their account balance. It is important that an account is created for every student, regardless of whether they take part in school meals or not. You can access MySchoolBucks to view and/or set up an account for your student(s) here. To set up an account, you will need your child(ren)'s student identification number(s), which can be found in the Parent Portal.

Information on Title IX
The 2024 Title IX regulations enhance protections against sexual harassment and gender identity discrimination. CBSD is dedicated to ensuring an environment free from discrimination due to race, age, religion, sex, gender identity, disability and any other classification protected by state or federal law. We uphold Title IX, prohibiting sex-based discrimination and harassment. Updated Title IX regulations, approved in the summer of 2024, emphasize stronger protections for students, particularly regarding sexual harassment and gender identity discrimination. Parents and guardians with inquiries should contact their building principal or Alyssa Wright, Title IX coordinator, at 267-893-2060 or alwright@cbsd.org. More information
Regular School Attendance is Critical for Student Success and Well-Being
As we begin the 2024-25 school year, CBSD wishes to remind families of important information regarding attendance. Pennsylvania's school laws, like Act 138 of 2016 and the updated Act 16, outline what is required for mandatory school attendance and procedures to follow when students are absent or late. Learn more
Students: Create a Design for CBSD's Lock Screen for All to See!
During the 2024-2025 school year, CBSD invites students to draw inspiration from CBSD's "Portrait of a Graduate" to create an original design to display on the lock screens of district laptops and ClearTouch panels. The winning artwork will be featured on CBSD screens each month for all students, faculty and staff to see! The winning student artist will also receive a prize. Students can submit their designs based on each month's Portrait of a Graduate theme. Submissions are due on the 20th of each month. More details and how to submit.

Homeroom Parents Needed
Home and School is still looking for homeroom parents for the 2024-2025 school year. Being a homeroom parent is a fun way to support Kutz and to be a part of your child's school year experience. Each K-5th grade classroom has 2-3 homeroom parents who work together to fulfill the homeroom parent duties. Note: 6th grade coordinators were selected last spring.
Below are the responsibilities of the homeroom parent:
- Collect classroom dues of $5 per student for grades 1-5, $10 per student for kindergarten
- Work with your child's teacher to plan classroom parties
- Collect parent email addresses at Back to School Night to form a classroom communication list
- Communicate information about school events to your class through email and at events like Back to School Night
(Please note: This requires frequent use of email and timely responses. Home & School relies on homeroom parents to spread information about classroom dues, class parties, Teacher Appreciation Week, Spring Fair and other Home and School related events.)
